You would need to frame this in terms of "how many usable sick days do I have" because it will vary. At the end of the building season, you might have a few. In the spring, after holidays and weather days have reduced your chargeability to 86%, you will not be allowed to take days off (or you will be fired without notice, like I was). Try to have all your certifications done on your own time, because if you do it on company time, it will count against you.
