I love working at TestOut. I feel like I'm making the world better by creating excellent educational software that will help students actually learn skills they can use to better their lives and better navigate technology.

Pros

Flexible PTO, modern technology, stable and profitable, lots of transparency

Cons

No formal ongoing training opportunities for employees, but you can create your own path

Rewarding work and an amazing culture

Helping students is very rewarding work. The company culture and more specifically the owner is amazing. Company activities like annual bowling outing, Lagoon day, Xmas party, trips, etc...I would not want to work anywhere else!

LeadershipInvolved, proactive, and I think they genuinely care about my and my co workers well being.PeopleNice, fun, and very cooperative, I have found all of my coworkers very helpful.WorkInteresting, and challenging. You will be kept busy, but within a normal full time schedule you won't be worked to death, but you also won't be idle.(worse then being overworked in my opinion)BenefitsGood pay, generous time off, and the best healthcare I have ever had.

Very supportive work environment with great people and a great product

Working in teams together to build good customer relations and improve sales of a great product for online studies in the IT field is what TestOut is all about. A leader in the field of IT certification preparation, TestOut offers a superior training package used by individuals and educational institutions throughout the country and even internationally. TestOut offers their employees a great benefits package and wonderful activities throughout the year. One of the best, if not the best, places I've worked for in my career.

There was so much in-fighting between departments that it was difficult to get anything done. I learned so little and felt disrespected and/or invisible most of the time. The culture is toxic, especially for women and non-mormons.

TestOut is a great place to work, especially if you have IT/computer knowledge or if you want to learn more about computers. TestOut creates courses on Information Technology, so by working here, you will end up reading through courses and/or watching videos and simulations. You'll end up learning a LOT while you work. The workload is about average; I never run out of things to work on, but I never get extremely overloaded either. Sometimes the work can be tedious or repetitive, but not unbearably so. It especially helps that you are allowed to listen to music with headphones while you work. You are expected to be very detail-oriented and hardworking. This company definitely expects your very best every day, and you are really rewarded for it. The CEO is extremely generous. There is a company trip nearly every year for full-time employees (this year it's a trip to Thailand!)—not to mention the company activities nearly every other month. There's also a yearly trip to Lagoon. And every day there's a snack bar for employees, with fruit and candy. You'll be treated well here. Everyone here is really friendly and understanding, even higher management.
