Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNeeds more organization or clarity between clinics. Communication is important and overall experience is okay. The role of the MAs are important as they do everything. From clincal to admin. MAs are also in charge of ordering supplies and medicines if necessary or told by Management.

Does not value tenure
Staff RN Emergency Department (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - May 20, 2023
Promotes nepotism and preferential hiring to friends and relatives; outsiders often have no chances for jobs in nursing, which is why there’s no competition in hiring for the best qualified candidates

Nutrition Operator (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - May 2, 2023
Honestly it was a very good job to be starting off as a nutrition operator. You get to learn so much and so quickly and it’s definitely more fast paced than a regular job.

Assistant Director (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - April 17, 2023
Overall, leadership at Texas Children's has put patient care and team members first. No place is perfect, but since I joined as a front line staff member well over a decade ago, it has felt like family.

Amazing
Patient Service Specialist (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - April 6, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? My experience from the interview process until now has been AMAZING. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? I work remotely, the most stressful part of my job is knowing the information. But my leadership and coworkers are very helpful and supportive. They make locating information extremely easy. Just don’t be afraid to ask for help.

Large childrens' hospital--Pro and Con.
Medical Technologist (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - April 6, 2023
They offer decent benefits--not the best or the worst; a lot of PTO except you will have difficulty using it if you work off shifts. Equipment is generally in good shape and you will do tests/procedures all the time that other hospitals rarely do. Lots of "rules" you have to follow depending on different patient ages/condition that you don't at an adult hospital. Most feel their work is doing some good. Constant expansion means there's always something "new" and more in the works for you to learn, do, etc. so pro/con depending on the person.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Management, I can only speak of the West Campus. TCH is a huge company,so I am not sure how the other campuses are... What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Great work environment caring co-workers What is a typical day like for you at the company? The West Campus is not too bad. We were busy, some a lot of down time.

Pediatrics
Medical Assistant (Former Employee) - Houston, TX - March 13, 2023
The company is a great place to work for they have great benefits and allow you to transfer to a different TCP location once you've been to a TCP for at least 6 months. Unfortunately the location I worked for was very small and at times we were not busy at all. The hardest part of the job was trying to compromise with management, daily there are different rules and it's always up to management that determines what patients we see and which ones we do which i think is ridiculous that its based on which insurances they have. The thing that got me through the day was the good communication I had with the physician I worked with as well as my co-workers.
Pros
1 hour lunch guaranteed, accruing PTO builds a lot of hours
Cons
no team building exercises, no communication, poor management

Parents are given so much leeway to be late to scheduled appointments What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The pediatric office I worked at was comfortable and happy. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Busy but not chaotic I did not feel overwhelmed

Good pay if you compare with other hospitals. You will get just few cents of more salary per year.
Ambulatory Services Representative II (Former Employee) - Houston, Texas, United States - March 7, 2023
Education does not guarantee a promotion. Good communication between clinical and non-clinical staff. Too many managers. You will not stop working from minute one two the end of your shift.
Pros
Tuition assistance 2, 500 limit
Cons
Hard to get time off

Great Place To Work
RPSGT (Former Employee) - The Woodlands, TX - February 27, 2023
I worked 3 nights per week. As a Sleep Technologist, naturally we work nights in order to perform sleep studies. Difficult to transition from nights to days. Loved my coworkers, my department and management. Lots of encouragement daily and Town Hall meetings so we all knew what was going on. Salary was very competitive with opportunity to work overtime at other campuses. I love TCH!
Pros
Loved the culture and atmosphere
Cons
Working nights

Simple Role
Emergency Room Unit Clerical Assistant (Current Employee) - Katy, TX - February 22, 2023
No brainer position for a decent wage. Minimal contact with management if you work nights. Enjoyment of the job will depend on the medical staff who you work with.
