I've worked at the bank for a long time and have seen the company culture of the organization change a few times. Most recently has been the biggest with a total restructuring and a huge focus on compliance - which is good.
It's a good company to work for. The people are nice, the work is not difficult although at times it can be a little busy and hectic. Management overall is nice and the relaxed dress code is always a plus.
Benefits, relaxed dress code, paid time off, friendly workers.

The company is a great as a whole but the management could use some work and how they communicate with their employees define area of opportunity. But overall the company is fine and the pay is very fair.

I've been here for quite a few years and the company has changed drastically. It used to be a small organization with a strong family and community feel. After a complete change in management and massive lay offs, the entire structure of the organization has changed and that sense of community is not really here.
Most of the people are great to work with. Very friendly and the atmosphere is a little laid back. Dress code is pretty casual in that we can wear jeans every day. The management rating... that really depends on who your manager is. There are some great managers here that really focus on employee development and try to push their people forward. While there are some managers that are not. They're more concerned with the current workflow, meeting goals and that sort of thing.
It's not really a bad place to work. I would like to see more opportunities available for advancement. It helps people when they have a career path that provides them with something to reach for.
Relaxed dress code, friendly co-workers.
No Career pathways and very little advancement opportunities.

This place has just gone downhill. While the bank did need to make some changes to cut costs, laying off half of your employees, refusing raises for lower level employees, and no incentive whatsoever is not a good way to run a business. Anyone with any knowledge or worth has left the company (willingly or by layoff). The ones that are left are over worked and underpaid. I really enjoyed being here several years ago, but now it's like being on the Titanic. A few lucky survivors ended up with a life boat and the rest of us are sinking with the ship.

The people at the Bancorp are great, management is top notch. They treat you like a person and not a number and they have a strong understanding that there is life outside of work. With that being said the pay is low and benefits are lacking.
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) – Wilmington, DE – November 26, 2017
I worked at Bancorp for many years. It was a great company to work for. Relaxed atmosphere, nice people and decent work environment. Management was normally reasonable, approachable and fair. The 'quality' process was subjective and time consuming and frankly more annoying than helpful.
The company went through a restructuring effort and reduced the workforce by 20% over the last few years. New upper management is more rigid and old school. Overall, though it was a nice place to work.
Management literally made up a lie to get rid of me
Compliance Analyst (Former Employee) – Wilmington, DE – November 15, 2017
Horrible managers who seriously care nothing about employee respect, personal integrity. Bank was supposed to be in a culture of change but that was only lay offs and pushing employees out once layoffs were restricted. Not able to trust the person next to you much less your management.
I survived a caustic work culture and still have faith in man's goodness
I have seen the worst of of the worst step on others for a moment of recognition
Assistant Vice President (Current Employee) – Wilmington, DE – November 13, 2017
The company was a great place to work for until new management took over. They slashed everything and laid off about half the company. It is terrible going to work not knowing if it's going to be your last day.
Assist both clients and Trust advisors (Former Employee) – Wilmington, DE – October 15, 2017
Many jobs were outsourced out of country due to poor management. The days could be very busy and I was able to build a rapport with many financial advisors. Job duties were always changing due to management.
Transaction Monitoring / AML Analyst (Former Employee) – Wilmington, DE – August 12, 2017
Very quiet environment. Managment was okay. Need to work on system and be quicker when responding to system issues. Very disappointed because was not given notice before assignment ended. I received a call two hours after leaving the office not to return the next work day. If you are a temp have to choices i suggest to choose another assignment over this one because they are not transparent.
SVP (Former Employee) – Wilmington, DE – August 5, 2017
Prior to the new management team joining The Bancorp team it was a great and energetic place to work. The current Senior management team is only focused on cutting costs and not focus on driving new business or profits.
Very bad experiences, Once of the worth experiences in my entire work experience ever.
Ops Loan Scanner Operator II (Former Employee) – Wilmington, DE – June 8, 2017
Typical day very bad no communication at all. learning wide I didn't lean much because they did not willing to train so what I learn I learned on my own and very proud. My boss very good person but people above her to terrible. No too many people of different culture work in at the Bancorp very sad. The hardest part of the job was ask question because like a said they before, communication between co-workers was terrible so to me that was the hardest part of the job. There was nothing enjoyable of the job I was performing.
for my experience at the beginning there was free lunches
