Total Nightmare Workplace
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) –  Piedmont, SCApril 8, 2019
Don't be fooled if they seem nice in the interview, it will quickly change once you are hired on. They treat employees subhuman. Most people quit before the 6 month mark and run from this place without looking back. Growing very fast by giving hospitals the lowest bid and cannot keep up with demand, constantly on employees to make calls to donors regardless of your position and beg for blood. The donors are sick and tired of being harassed with endless phone calls. Everyday is a crisis with not enough blood supply, all employees have to stay late calling and calling. Work 7 days a week, morning, noon, and night. No consideration for family or personal life. Do yourself a favor and stay away from this nightmare.
Pros
Helping save lives. Benefits.
Cons
Everything else.

Hard Job
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) –  Piedmont, SCApril 7, 2019
If you're single this is the perfect job but those with families should reconsider. You work a lot of long hours under poor management. There's a lot of mis communication and favoritism.
Pros
Interaction with your donors

Hard knock life
Phlebotomist. Donor Services (Current Employee) –  Greenville, SCMarch 22, 2019
They will change your schedule at the drop of a hat. Your hours will be extended without notice and you are expected to work regardless of prior engagements or childcare issues. The pay is terrible for all the work that is expected. The schedule is extremely erratic (you might work 3-9 on Monday then 6:30-6:30 on Tuesday). Breaks are nonexistent and you rarely get off on time. If you have a family you could go days without laying eyes on them. The communication is nonexistent and management will repeatedly ignore phone calls and not return them, then you as the employee will get an “occurrence” for not being able to resolve a problem. No room for advancement. Don’t do it.

401k, some coworkers

Can be overwhelming. Employees are over worked and under cared for. Company could care more for their workers. Communication within the company needs improvement.

Horrible horrible place to work
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) –  Piedmont, SCJanuary 19, 2019
Horrible horrible place to work. The management sucks it is all based on favoritism they will lie to your face talk about you behind your back and will let you go in a heartbeat if you don’t follow What they want you to do. They do not stick with their mission or what their employee training manual says Will not give you time off unless you’re one of the favorites never a weekend off even if you have children they don’t care. This place has poor management to face staff and you have to be in the click to get what you want. That is ridiculous for a company . The pay is terrible and it is based on favoritism especially from the trainers. Also management is very unprofessional as well as the HR director is absolutely ridiculous.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Long hours no breaks ridiculous hours

Great mission
DR (Current Employee) –  Piedmont, SCDecember 10, 2018
The company is growing a lot which is great! I think some of the entry level positions don't realize how good the benefits are, especially 401k. They are a non-profit so of course the pay isn't going to be stellar, but the benefits make up for it and the people are great

Phlebotomist (Current Employee) –  Piedmont, SCDecember 3, 2018
I have been trying to find another job for three months. All of the good people are leaving or are already gone. We never get any weekends off unless we put in for it and I'm always getting off late at night. This isn't a job for anyone with kids or an enjoyable life!!
Pros
Meeting new people
Cons
sometimes no breaks and hostile management and favortism

If you are a older person I wouldn't recommend. The trainer has favorites. If your older they don't want to work with you. If you want a stable job this isn't it.

Poor Management
Phlebotomist (Former Employee) –  Piedmont, SCOctober 13, 2018
If you work on mobiles expect to work long hours with no breaks. If you work at a center expect big brother to be watching you at all times. Terrible management. COO has big screen in his office and watches each center constantly. Time off is weird. No set holidays. You get paid time off but it is used for sick, holidays, and vacation and you have to request holidays. Good luck as they are open most holidays. People quit constantly (low level) while the management stays there forever.

Cons
Poor management, low pay.

Phelbotomist (Former Employee) –  Greenville, SCOctober 10, 2018
The Blood Connection sells across the country to any bidder with the highest bid, saw lots of blood being sold to other places far for more money when local hospitals where in great need of blood products.

Management plays favorites. There were are few good ones, but not many.
HS (Former Employee) –  Piedmont, SCSeptember 16, 2018
Management has its favorities and they cater to their needs and screw the rest. Employees have cliques and will talk about you as soon as you turn your back or have a day off. They dont care about things going on in your life. Its all about the sales and the collections. You couldnt pay me to go back there.

Courier (Former Employee) –  Piedmont, SCMay 31, 2018
The workplace over all is pretty good. The work is steady and its not too hard. There can be employee drama, but that is with most work environment. For the most part, everyone works as a team. Management is great but upper level corporate could be a little more involved.

No room to grow as an employee. Good training program. Mobile schedule is hard if you have a family. Management seems to only care about growth as a company but does not properly staff to do so.
Pros
Good training program, great benefits
Cons
No advancement as an employee
