It’s not the work or the job if you are use to clean all day but it’s the managers .They would Stand over your head while you’re cleaning and just rude

Don’t work here
Professional Cleaner (Former Employee) –  Newport NewsMarch 12, 2018
That $11-$14/hr. is only the pay for being in the house and it’s $8.75 for travel time. And the most time you’ll spend in the house is 2 hours and that’s rare. The pay is not worth it, you surly can not live off your pay check. And watch out because a lot of the trainers will throw you under he bus to make themselves look good. If you decide to still work here, you have been warned.
Pros
Being able to use your phone between houses and listen to music as you work. Getting paid every week
Cons
The pay sucks and they expect you to be in and out of houses even when they are extremely dirty

Housekeeper/ Customer Service (Former Employee) –  Newport News, VAFebruary 15, 2018
The typical day at The Cleaning Authority, insisted of showing up to the office and gathering together all the supplies needed to complete the day successfully, driving to the customers houses and greeting them. Clean about 3-4 houses a day with a teammate rotating the harder rooms every other house once done driving back to the office and packing up for the day

At The Cleaning Authority I learned how to manage time and
multitask.

Management was not as caring for there employees for the amount of effort and hard work that the employees gave everyday.

Workplace culture was very diverse.

The hardest part of the day at The Cleaning Authority was getting back to the office safely with lots of traffic.

The most enjoyable part of the day for me at The Cleaning Authority was seeing and interacting to the customers.

Professional House Cleaner (Former Employee) –  Newport News, VAOctober 1, 2017
I wouldn't plan on making this long-term unless you want to move up. Can be hard on your body. Your partner and yourself alternate who drives for the day.
Pros
Dont work weekends, Paid weekly
Cons
Wear and tear on vehicle, a lot of driving, hours are not consistent, have a set time to be and out of each house, times are not always accurate for how long it takes in a house

Management is terrible! Shady and petty! They lie to u telling you that u make a certain amount. What they don't tell you is you only make that while cleaning. Travel time is way less. A lot of work for hardly no pay! You never know when u will get off in the evening and you're lucky if you get 40 hours a week!

Cleaning Supervisor (Former Employee) –  Newport News, VAOctober 4, 2015
I actually enjoyed working here. The only part I didn't like about the job was traveling to Williamsburg and having to drive my own car. The pay was good by the time i left i was making 10.50 and was a supervisor. They did however pay you for mileage and you were paid travel time. Overall good job but that was 8 yrs. ago, not sure how it is now..

I enjoy cleaning, so being a housekeeper was fun. I did not enjoy using my own car to commute throughout Hampton Roads.
