Great mission, great company!
direct support professional (Current Employee) –  Omaha, NEDecember 3, 2015
I wanted to get experience in the human service field during college and applied to work at Community Supports. Once I was hired the training allowed me to get certificates in other things that would help my career like CPR, Mandt and Med aide. I will say like any social work job it can be demanding, but I love serving a Mission that allows me to help people every day! I hope to move up to a supervisor soon!
Pros
Job training, CPR certification, Med aide and Mandt training

Meaningful - Love helping others
Direct Support Professional (Former Employee) –  Omaha, NENovember 30, 2015
If you are passionate about helping others achieve their goals, I would recommend working at Community Supports. To me, it was meaningful working with those who have disabilities to gain skills and live life to its fullest. Just like any other job, there will be times of stress but if you work hard there is room for growth within the company. When supervisor positions open up you have the opportunity to move up if you are qualified.
Pros
Meaningful, Working with people, great co-workers
Cons
Can be stressful but rely on co-workers for guidance

Residential Coordinator (Former Employee) –  OmahaOctober 13, 2015
There is no employee value. People are worked to the bone. There is no management support, from the top down. Employees are left to fend for themselves in an unsafe and sometimes harmful environment.
Pros
Working with the developmentally disabled.
Cons
No life balance, all pain no gain.

Over all its a great company to work for. The clients are great to work with, they have behaviors sometimes that you as staff can't change you have to let them work it out.
