The COVE is one of the best vet hospitals in the area and they have the best management as well. They always have their door open if you need anything and they are helpful, fair, and kind! The work atmosphere is great as well! All the staff are willing to answer questions and help you learn if you have never worked in emergency medicine before! I have made lifelong friends here and grown so much personally and professionally!

Potential to be different, but poor management

Veterinary Technician (Former Employee) - Suffolk, VA - August 31, 2023

I learned several technical skills at this job, but unfortunately the people who supported me and made me feel the most appreciated were my coworkers. There is little opportunity to grow here unless you're a favorite of the managers. This hospital has several people who are amazing to work with, but management has created a difficult enviroment to work in. There is very little direction given by managers on call to help, very little documentation as far as conversations with management, and overall very difficult place to work in. I would not recommend this hospital. I wouldn't even take my own pets there while I worked there, which definitely says something. Main manager of the hospital also has her way or the highway.

poor workplace culture, favortism, low ability to grow, poor compensation, poor patient treatment

A facility that strives to offer the best for every patient

I'm happy to be part of a team that focuses on each pet as an individual. Every patient that comes in gets a personalized treatment plan. The care to detail and compassion for the patients and their owners is evident on a daily basis.
