Be yourself
Working at TEP taught me more than I ever expected, I had to always learn and adjust on a daily basis since each new day came with brand new challenges.

A community of individuals who are truly committed to furthering educational equity.
Though being part of TEP Charter School is by no means easy work, it has easily been the most fulfilling work of my life thus far. TEP is full of passionate people who are truly furthering the mission of educational equity for undeserved communities. TEP prioritizes family engagement, diversity and inclusion, and serving the student's social/emotional learning.

I feel grateful to be part of a group of people who are so willing to commit so much of their lives to this work.

Be careful what you wish for
There are amazing review about TEP, however, they do not discuss how employees never have time to take lunch. They don’t discuss how staff work an average of 12+ hours a day. They do not discuss how undervalued we actually are. They only highlight the $125,000 a year, yet, we work WAY harder and longer with no time to breathe for that money. The grass isn’t always greener.

Non instructional staff get paid less 50k yet work as many hours as the teachers and probably harder. They are also undervalued and treated like side trash. Again, the grass isn’t always greener. Do not apply.

Very stressful job.
You're ON 95% of the time. The teachers have many other tasks other than teaching their subject matter, which makes it even more stressful. The average day is 10 hours but many other employees work 12 hours daily.
Pros
Great compensation.
Cons
You're basically giving up on your personal life to work at TEP.

Healthy work environment.
You get assigned one or two students, and throughout the year, you provide individualized assistance using the tools they provide. By the end of the year, you become very attached to the student, but it is a very rewarding job.

It's a good workplace.
This is a good job for those who don't have time to work a lot. This job is not an easy, or hard job. The hardest part of the job is getting the children to want to do work.
