School-Based Intervention Counselor in Gloversville, NY
on January 6, 2023
I started this job a few months after I finished grad school - I loved that I'd be able to be in a school setting and counsel kids everyday. I think my opinion of TFCC is different than those who work at the agency because I do not have to deal with the pressure that they do. I'm almost never at the agency. If you are a starting therapist (like right after your masters) please be aware of the work that is required to do and keep in mind that there is a lot of turnover at this place. I had at least 4 different supervisors there and I didn't even stay a year. Also there was new therapists like me that started and more than half of them left within the first 6 months. This population is tough as there ...

I have worked here for 20 yrs. and have a passion for empowering people. That helps with day to day work. The culture is getting better as time goes on and I have hopes that it will improve. The hardest part about my job is the necessary regulations and inconsistency.
Outpatient Therapist in Gloversville, NY

It's a place to work if you're just out of grad school and are still convinced that you need to "pay your dues" before you can be treated with respect by a workplace. Prepare for burnout, disorganized leadership and unsustainable productivity expectations.

Non supportive and toxic work environment. You are constantly micro-managed to the point where it becomes difficult to complete tasks and so your job. The company is non supportive to the employee
