Small company with big impact Analyst (Former Employee) – Chicago, IL – November 19, 2017 The Federal Home Loan Bank is an interesting bank that most people don't know about. They are a GSE (Government Sponsored Enterprise) that acts similar to other GSEs (i.e., Fannie and Freddie) by providing liquidity to community lending platforms. The Federal Home Loan Bank provides you the opportunity to learn a lot about banking as the bank is fairly small (<300 employees). However, given it is a GSE, they operate much like a government agency (i.e., slow and methodical).
not stressful, promotes flexibility
compensation is commensurate with a government job
