Assistant Director/ Kindergarten Teacher in Ashburn, VA
on August 29, 2019
Goddard is an overall great school, they really take their students and learning into consideration. The only down side is that it is considered a business most times and not looked at as an actual school at times.
Teacher in Wesley Chapel, FL
on September 15, 2021
There's lots of things that went wrong, so to summarize: Owner was fantastic and serious about childhood education. Staff, however, is not. The company prides themselves on real education, but in this location, teachers did not teach. In reality, they are pointing to a piece of paper, making the kid point/ paint/ build, then taking photos, only to move the child over, onto the next photoshoot. Sometimes teachers would be out of their classrooms (not on their lunch break) to just chat with other teachers. I only know one other teacher who was very serious with actually teaching the kids, but she was so incredibly, extremely stressed being near/over-ratio and not having the help she asks for, while having her assistant struggle to catch up. I am very disappointed how unbalanced expectations are- either you must do everything and be demanded perfection, or do nothing and be left completely alone. So, if you want to do virtually nothing and get paid and praised for it, this is the company for you. If you're a serious teacher, there's gonna be a lot of pressure and stress on you to make up for what others lack.
Teacher in Deerfield, IL
on September 15, 2021
The owners of the Goddard School in Deerfield, are poor business managers. Specifically they don't know how to manage employees. Owners have a very ridged view of employee performance. If employees do not follow their "view" they are fired. Firing employees at this Deerfield location occurs on a regular bases. The owners don't have the knowledge or skills to support and/or couch employees to follow their "vision." Don't work here, you will regret it.

The Goddard School of Alexandria helps you achieve great sense of your teaching career. It has a clean and nice ambiance and the classrooms are conducive to learning.
Early Childhood Education Teacher in Waxhaw, NC

Absolutely amazing for the education of children! The pay is horrible as well as the management. But it is more than worth the trouble to teach the future!
