Depends a lot of the Project Lead
At the Elbow Support (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOJuly 10, 2018
As an ATE, this company and how your treated at a Go-Live depends heavily on the Project Lead. There was a huge difference between working for HCI in Rochested, MN, and working for them in St. Louis, MO.

Bottom of the Barrell
Credentialed Trainer (Former Employee) –  St. Louis, MOJuly 9, 2018
The HCI Group is a deplorable company that lacks in every area of human resources and management. It has no concern nor respect for its employees, as a result has a horrid reputation with consultants. They continually have housing issues, payroll issues, racially charged emails & scandal upon scandal at every project. The staff are all self important with no idea of what it takes to manage a team or a successful project.

Hospital Systems should truly stay away from this sham of a company and give contracts to more reputable companies. HCI is a cancer of the Health Information Technology Industry.

Excellent opportunity to learn with continuously challenging environment
Chief Financial Officer (Current Employee) –  Duval County, FLJuly 4, 2018
I was deputed from the parent company in India when it acquired HCI Group, I was posted as the Chief Financial Officer and everyday was a different challenge. Most of people were very cooperative and supportive. A typical day use to begin as early as 8 am on some days and then end at around 5 pm. It used to be filled with routine tasks along with one of external meetings and some regular internal discussions. The company was a promoter led company and hence was very nascent in its maturity as far as systems and processes were concerned. But the endeavor was to get things in order and I received good support in all the change initiatives that I tried to implement. Culture was very welcoming, but since the company ownership and management had changed the most difficult part was to convince employees to be comfortable as far as their job security was concerned. Interacting with several external agencies like Banks, Auditors, Consultants, Insurance brokers and learning from them newer practices was most enjoyable part.
Pros
Freedom to take decisions and supportive environment
Cons
Lack of Systems and Processes

Disappointing follow through
EPIC Credentialed Trainer (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILJune 14, 2018
In the beginning everyone was responsive and helpful. But after two months they started having issues with paying employees on time. This lasted for several months with claims of the third party company that handles payroll. Has since been corrected but should not have happened for a company that specializes in this.

Worst Company Ever!
ATE Consultant (Current Employee) –  St. Louis, MOJune 8, 2018
This company is horrible! Its almost certain that you will not be paid on time or the correct amount and you have to go through hoops to try and get your money. The logistics team...#totalfailure! Never seen anything like it. This company sends their employees to different states for GO Live projects and cares nothing about their well being- there were employees on the Mayo project without rooming for several weeks. BJC project is the same! They gave their employees metro link passes and that's their way of transporting them to and from work-safety doesn't matter (STL is on the top of the list of the most dangerous cities) the company constantly sends threatening emails to their employees as if they are a bunch of ignored kids. And on top of this...the work schedules- Ridiculous! They require you to work 12-15 hr shifts 7 days a week! They try to make you think that you'll be making all of this money, and for the ones that never made any decent money or in desperate need falls for the Okie Doke. There is no work-life balance working these schedules and they definitely aren't concerned with your mental or physical health! And the lowest of the low...don't get released from a project before being tapered- if so, you will have to pay your own way home! Yes, they'll take you hundreds of miles away from your home and leave you stranded! Totally insane! Complete madness. Please take heed to what has been said, because all of these things are true! It's unbelievable that this company is able to still exist! If only their clients knew how they treat their employees!

Consultant/Contractor (Former Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLMay 25, 2018
Stay away from this company!!! you will have to hound management and corporate about the money you've earned. It was either they didn't deposit your check or I wouldn't get a check at all. This company is crooked and unprofessional.

Don't depend on a paydate
Go Live Consultant (Former Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLMay 11, 2018
The project itself was fine. We were told 3 different dates that we would get paid on certain dates by the project manager and that did not happen! This is unacceptable as people have responsibilities! Never have I worked for a company for 3 weeks and only received 1 week of pay! I now have to wait almost a month just to get paid a full two weeks! Never again!

Other (Former Employee) –  PennsylvaniaMay 3, 2018
This company uses people because they can. Horrible work ethics across the board. They work consultants at straight pay, for 60+ hours a week. And thats IF you even get paid!!! They have you sign contracts they don't fulfill. They have permanent employees that fit "their" culture, and leave ZERO room for progression, but have time to gossip. If you have the misfortune of working with Madeline Lake...RUN!!!!

Administrative Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Baglan, Wales, UKApril 11, 2018
I work for HCI UK, the team here are all fantastic and easy to work alongside. The Operations Manager is amazing, he really cares about the team and will do whatever he can to accommodate your needs. I have gained lots of experience and have been made to feel like a valued member of the Operations team. Times when I have needed to work overtime, I have been fairly compensated.

Marketing (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLMarch 1, 2018
Working at HCI is exciting. If you love technology and want to work in the healthcare industry, I would highly recommend this company. They are disrupting the industry, for the better. It's just like any other company, where you get out of it what you put in. I see many people who leave just didn't fit the work ethic here.
Pros

Creative Marketing Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Jacksonville, FLMarch 1, 2018
This company is really successful for those willing to work hard and invest in themselves. If you are proud of your work, take the time to invest in continuous learning, be proactive, and have a problem-solving approach, then you'll be able to advance quickly.
The office is quick paced, but teamwork helps ensure the stress doesn't pile up.
