Interviewed with ops manager on Tuesday, conditional job offer extended on the spot, saliva drug testing right after the interview as well as authorization for a background check. Received email three days later that said Congrats and the next day the store called me in to complete my paperwork. I was scheduled for training the following Tuesday. Went from interview to training in one week.

It took me about a month because they run a drug test and make some other calls concerning your credit score as well. Because I am prescribed a medication that showed up in the drug test, I had a doctor who was very nice call me up to discuss and to get his permission to call my pharmacist. After that, all set. However, once I started, typically new hires are required to train in the back room using computer based learning for a max of 10 hours each week. I’d say that there were about 2 months that went by from being hired on the spot at the interview until when I finally got out on the floor and earned some money- frustrating.

Applied for position.. got an interview about a month later. Then a month more I heard back giving dates to schedule a 2nd interview for Following week. At that point already accepted another part time job but was still interested so waited a day after notice to get positive days and times from other job. Went back to schedule interview time and was informed job already taken??? Even though first interview time offered was 5 days from then? And no phone number to contact the store.

Has anyone ever been interviewed for a specific position at Home Depot (that they advertised for), interviewed with 2 of the asst store managers for that specific job, told your we're going to get an offer for the job but then had the HR manager call you the next day and tell you that the position they want to hire you for isn't the one you interviewed for?
