Overall good place to work
Field Staffing Manager (Current Employee) –  Atlanta, GAJuly 20, 2019
Working under Talent Acquisition, overall I've had a good experience.

The bonus structure is decent, starting at up to 10% if you're in management level or above. Health benefits are a bit more expensive than other employers, but there are good perks that I've not seen elsewhere. Tuition reimbursement at 50%. Flexible teleworking options a few days a week, which is somewhat competitive with other employers. 100% remote would be great, since the job isn't customer-facing and due to recent parking/office overcrowding. Great advancement opportunities and resources to learn other job functions.

Okay for retail, but not awesome.
Customer Service Lead (Current Employee) –  Bonney Lake, WAJuly 20, 2019
Overall, not a bad place to work. The people there really care about the work they do, which is nice. Everyone wants to do a good job. Unfortunately though, the lack of staffing and minimal training opportunities make things difficult for everyone. Home Depot focuses heavily on "taking care of the customer" which is a great priority to have, but that usually means associates get the poo end of the stick; i.e. no formal training, heavily under-staffing, missed breaks, lack of communication, etc.
Pros
People, scheduling, culture
Cons
Structure, training, understaffed, ordering software

Managers and coworkers always made sure that the task were fullfilled and that the workers were hydrated.
Also, they helped out with financial problems if needed.

Not competitive in pay
FT Lumber associate (Current Employee) –  Reno, NVJuly 18, 2019
Employees hourly pay rates need to increase. Hourly pay compensation needs to be more competitive with rival lowes. Lowe's pays their employees more than home depot does.

The Home Depot is a great place to work if you're a people person like I am. Not only are the customers friendly, but the other people working there are fun to work with. Management has improved since I first started working there. Management and other employees are always willing to work with you when you need help.

Stressful and management is unprofessional
Special Services Associate (Former Employee) –  Knox County, TNJuly 17, 2019
Culture is based on favoritism. Basic Big-Box store environment with high turnover. First year is generally part-time and benefits are weak even after reaching full-time.

Cashier/Refunds (Current Employee) –  Newark, DEJuly 17, 2019
a typical day just consists of giving customer service and ringing up customers. i've learned customer service is one of my strong suits. management is okay. sometimes they can forget things but who doesn't just remind them. workplace culture is eh. hardest part of the job is standing 8 hours and not being able to move around unless you are on break or lunch. the most enjoyable part of the job is working with some good people.
Pros
free food sometimes, fundraisers every friday, pay, benefits
Cons
not much moving, no full time available like ever
