Admin Clerk (Current Employee) - Wichita, KS - June 27, 2023
The Independent School would be a better place to work if the management and upper management believed in their workers. The team work is not there in the admin office
Pros
Free lunches, students and parents, work/life balance
Cons
Upper management does not work well with others

Toddler Teacher (Current Employee) - Wichita, KS - October 1, 2021
I have worked at the ELC for a little a year now. I truly love working at the ELC! Most teachers are hired in as rover so they get to know a few different classrooms to see what age groups they like best. Easy place for advancement, one of the highest paying learning centers in Wichita.

Current leadership is poor at best
Teacher (Former Employee) - Wichita, KS - December 13, 2020
Once a great place to work, now on a downward spiral due to the new top leadership, who are woefully inadequate at running a college preparatory school. They have let go of all the top teachers and kept younger (cheaper to pay) employees or ones that don't question the status quo. Students and most of the staff are good and dedicated employees, though this is not valued by current head of school. If you are looking for an independent school that values educators, this is not the place to work. If you are satisfied making a lower end teachers salary, with very small pay increases year after year, but would enjoy working with great students, (and smaller than public school class sizes), you will do okay.
Pros
Great students; ability to do what's best for your classes (academically)
Cons
Low pay, little chance for advancement, no retirement benefits

Middle School Physical Ed (Current Employee) - Wichita, KS - July 8, 2019
You have to stick it out for a while as a student or teacher to find out that you really appreciate being here.
It's not public school, or religious based and its thankfully NOT Collegiate... it's unique and kids are more prepared than they thought once they get to college!

It was only a volunteer positions due to budget cuts.
