You have to work 40 hours to get overtime, as opposed to anything after your 8 hours. This wouldn't be a problem but they had promised to pay nurses $21 an hour however I still stayed at basic wage. Like most nursing homes jobs your over stretched, 40 pts to two nurses 1st shift, 2nd shift and only one nurse on 3rd shift. Weekends there is always a - more ... shortage of staff despite it been mandatory to work every other weekend. I think a lot of nursing homes could avoid this if they offered weekend pay or other incentives to come in. - less
