Hardly ever, even when they give you more responsibility. I started taking returns after my first holiday season but did not see a pay increase until min wage went up a year later. An associate that was hired the next holiday was hired at $1.50 more than I was. The managers literally have to beg corporate to make sure employees are being compensated for doing more, 99% of the time the request is denied. It's like the wild west. Way too much blatant favoritism.

Recognize that the Department Managers run the show, especially with the protracted absence of a store manager. We feel unappreciated, underpaid and taken for granted. Happy customers are created and maintained by happy employees.

Full-time employees accrue 5 suck days a year. In Massachusettes PT accrue sick time per State law. As with many employers, if you are out 3 consecutive shifts a doctor's note is required releasing you back to work. Short term disability is paid for by the company for serious illnesses.
