Server (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAMarch 25, 2019
The Santaluz Club was by far the best place I have ever worked. If you work hard management notices and definitely puts you in all different areas. Your job title is not limited. My coworkers were beyond amazing, and made the stressful times that much easier. If you treat the members with the utmost respect they will do the same in return. Can get a little tiring, but that payout is very nice!
Pros
Healthcare, good money, fun environment

The golf course is very well maintained. The club houses are kept up with modern technology and the staff is friendly. It is a very private club, so you must know a current member to get through the gates.
Pros
Free employee meals, 100% benefits M/D/V

Great People and Membership but Treat Staff Terribly
Assistant Golf Professional/ manager (Former Employee) –  San Diego, CAFebruary 2, 2017
had great experiences at the club because of membership and other staff. It is very top heavy and upper management basically treats staff like slaves. Even have people work off the clock and steal tips from employees.
Pros
Free lunch, cool golf course
Cons
Terrible and unethical executive management.

Server/ Employee Trainer (Current Employee) –  Rancho Santa Fe, CAOctober 9, 2013
In the "Main DIning Room" of the Santaluz Club, it is a server's job to ensure that every "member/owner" has the best possible, very personal experience every time they dine at the club. Having never worked in a private club, the experience I have gained at this club is invaluable to my future career in the restaurant industry. I have learned the management dynamic that is required in a private equity club, in which your customers are the owners. At this club, because of its small number of members, servers are encouraged to get to know the preferences of our customers. With this, comes great relationships with very frequent customers, however this also leads to a lack of diversity in regards to the clientele.
