Starting at Stewart Perry as a graduate out of school, I was impressed with the time that managers and coworkers took to teach and guide me through the world of construction and help me continue learning. Since then, we have grown as a team and come together to cook out and get lunch. I have enjoyed the variety of projects I have worked on, and having a smaller business structure has allowed me to more be hands on with my projects and continue to grow.
Stewart/Perry has been great to work with. I have worked on wide range of projects including retail, office buildings, remodels, industrial buildings etc. Every project comes with its own unique challenges which gives you a chance to grow and hone your skills learned on previous projects.
Stewart Perry is a great place to work. It is full of driven employees accomplishing many projects that benefit several communities. Fun comradery between coworkers and various companies that work with Stewart Perry Company.
I work as Project Superintendent for Stewart/Perry and am about to start my 25th year. One of the reasons I started with Stewart/Perry was knowing that the company was owned and operated by a single owner, not a huge corporation. I felt that this company was large enough to keep a steady flow of challenging work, but also where I am not just a number. I have always felt that leadership treats employees as the company's biggest asset. My efforts on projects are acknowledged and concerns are addressed. We occasionally have problems on a job that cannot be worked out, and in those instances, the highest leadership is there for direct support and guidance, day or night, if needed. I feel Stewart/Perry has given me the opportunity to grow. Projects have been assigned that challenged my abilities and create an environment to improve them. New ideas/means and methods that I may consider when building a project are always taken seriously. Other perks include: Good insurance Plans - ie medical dental, vision and life insurance is offered Great 401K plan with better than average matching contributions by the Company Medical saving plans Vacation Program While being a superintendent can require long hours and extended stays out of town, I also think the company is concerned about our personal lives and our family as well. This is a great company that is a family, where I feel I could work until I retire.
Stewart/Perry has many long term employees that enjoy the mid-sized company benefits without the red tape and HR administration of a large firm. There is enough room for personal and professional growth but also good support from management. Managers are given opportunities for leadership and for those that much is expected also much is given. Everyone has a direct line of communication to leadership and ownership and it has always seemed to me that employees who excel are recognized for their efforts.
