Manager only cares about herself, is mean spirited and very demeaning to employees. Mean to employees in front of others and makes rude comments over the radio. Not worth the money.
What questions did they ask during your interview at The TJX Companies, Inc.?
- Tell me about yourself ?
- What is your availability?
- Have you ever delt with a conflict? How did you resolve it?
- Do you work good with teams?
- What does customer service mean to you?
- Why did you choose to work for TJMaxx?
- What would you do if a customer is angry ?
- Why do you think your a great fit for this company?
I applied online. One week later I received a phone call. We set up a time for our interview. A few days later I had my interview over the phone. There doing this to be safe because of the Corona Virus Pandemic. My phone interview lasted a little over 30 Minutes. I waited another week as they called and checked my references. I received a phone call back saying everything checked out great and started orientation a few days later.
If you were in charge, what would you do to make The TJX Companies, Inc. a better place to work?
I would be more family friendly, it seems that if you're a manager you work your tail off. I would like them to be more understanding to single mothers that are trying to balance work schedule, and daycare.
What advice would you give the CEO of The TJX Companies, Inc. about how to improve it?
District manager, should try to talk to sales associates rather than so called assistant managers. The sales associates do all the work. They know the customers.Ask them how things are going. The asst, do nothing. And the TJX rewards all day long.Care about associates. Like you care about rewards.Associate need the bonuses. Not so called assistant managers.Again associates are the ones that make the store.
How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at The TJX Companies, Inc.? What are the steps along the way?
As a Merchandise Associate the entire interview process took me a little over 3 weeks before I started Orientation.
401K after so long as well as personal time after a year I believe. However, the company is very flexible with scheduling and time off. If you need more than part-time work or to really make a living you will not get it at TJMaxx as a store associate. That is something to think about and pretty sure that is told up front so it's not something anyone can really complain about. Also most, not all, people at my store are hired in as seasonal temporary help. If you are asked to stay I'd say take that as a compliment. You know what you are coming into if you accept it. If people that have been there for years get more hours than you, learn from them and do what they do usually the people who get the extra hours when available get them because they perform duties of the position they are being paid to do.
Your scheduled weakly hours are based on the availability you give management and it can be changed at any time. If you say you can work open to close on any given day you may be scheduled at any time on any given day randomly to fill the needs of the store. If you don't like the schedules you are given it is very easy to go the scheduling or any manager and ask to change your availability. This company is great when it comes to this.
