Best job so far!
Certified RV Technician (Current Employee) - Houston, TX - October 2, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedI can confidently say that I've finally found a practice that aligns with my professional aspirations and personal goals. The exceptional work/life balance offered here is a breath of fresh air, providing a manageable day-to-day workload. It's been unlike any clinic I've worked at before, the clients here genuinely appreciate our work, and their expressions of gratitude are heartwarming. It's a stark contrast to the burnout often experienced in busy brick-and-mortar clinics. My manager is not only amazing but also genuinely supportive, taking the time to listen to concerns and questions. While there is an adjustment to new communication apps and software, patience is rewarded with a seamless and efficient workflow.can't express enough how satisfied I am with my decision to join The Vets. It's not just a job; it's a career where I feel valued, supported, and genuinely happy.
Pros
work life balance, benefits, team, pay
Cons
traffic, technology

Productive and fun workplace
Vet Technician Assistant (Current Employee) - Austin, TX - September 21, 2023
Working at The Vets has been a game-changer for me. Not only do we get to make a direct impact on pet health, but the company culture is unlike any other. The leadership team genuinely cares about our well-being, and the emphasis on work-life balance is real. Plus, who wouldn't love a job where you get to interact with adorable pets all day? Best decision I've ever made in my career!

I love my job
Veterinary Technician (Current Employee) - Columbus, OH - July 1, 2023
I love my job and have finally found a practice that allows me to have a work/ life balance. Day to day work is very manageable and the clients we see appreciate our work and show gratitude in ways I’ve never experienced in a clinic. If you’re feeling the burn out from a busy b&m clinic, this is a job you should consider. They offered me 4 10 hour shifts which is the schedule I’ve been fighting for for years being in the industry. I have never been paid so well as a technician and the work is a fraction of what I’m used to in a clinic setting. My manager is amazing and is very supportive and actually listens to concerns or questions. You do have to be patient and adjust to the different tech type communication apps and newly developed software. Other than that I’ve never been so happy doing what I do. The benefits are amazing too! Every federal holiday off and paid for, paid time off, health insurance, paid sick leave. They offer everything a large corporate company offers with out being stuck at a desk. The medicine is amazing and it’s refreshing to actually see animals treated with out the stress of traumatizing them in a clinic. I can’t say enough great things about this company.
Pros
Benefits. Work like balance. Pay. Good medicine.
Cons
Technology

I would never recommend
Veterinary Technician (Former Employee) - Portland, OR - March 16, 2023
I was with the company for over a year. It is poorly managed and corporate is all about corporate. I have never seen so many doctors or managers leave a company in the span of less than a year. They lure you in with a good starting wage but then you never receive raises. The "bonus programs" for certain roles are impossible to achieve. There is zero communication amongst the company. Notice how the only positive reviews for this company are by people who work behind a desk and not actually in the field. If you are in the field you get the short end of the stick daily. Never having proper information or records before walking into appointments. Corporate pushing you to go to appointments that clearly need to be seen at an actual UC. Its about the numbers and the money for this company. I have never in 8 years of vetmed seen employees treated so badly, and that's saying something for this industry. We had a constant flow of relief veterinarians come and go, none of them would accept a full time job after working a few shifts. Many of them wouldn't take on more shifts. This companies culture breeds misery. If you value your mental health and sense of self worth I would avoid this company at all cost.
Pros
Good starting pay
Cons
Everything else

Positive, motivating and amazing team spirit!
Booking Agent (Current Employee) - Canada - March 15, 2023
I've been with The Vets just over a year and it has been fabulous! I have nothing but greatness to report. From the management to my fellow colleague, the Doctors and the Vet Techs or customer care department, we are all working towards the best care for our Pets and Pawrents with every call taken to the time our Veterinary teams meet the fur-babies. Truly this opportunity with The Vets has been the best work environment I have every had the privilege of working!! Can't wait to see what the future holds!!! Come join us you will not regret it!!

Best place I have ever worked
Booking Agent (Current Employee) - London, CA - March 9, 2023
I started a little over a year ago and I was so nervous because I have never worked in this field. Despite the fact it was always something I wanted to do. The team instantly helped me overcome hurdles and understand my role and how best to help, not only the clients and their pets, but each other as well. I love getting to work in a healthy environment where you are a member of the family not a number. No stressful, degrading mistreatment or managers using their position to abuse their teams. I have been so supported both on and off the job. You are truly treated like you matter. If you need help you can ask and ACTUALLY get that help. My last position you were told "it's an open door, come ask me if you ever need anything" just to be told "you are on your own, sorry can't help you with that, figure it out for yourself". Now I don't feel sacred to ask for help and I am apart of a team that backs you up and helps lift you up. Before I got my position with The Vets, I was in such a dark place. I hated waking up and going to work. Was barely able to pay rent let alone keep food in the fridge. Now I wake up with purpose and pride and have been able to single handedly take care of my family. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I feel so blessed to be a part of The Vets.
Pros
Teamwork, Livable Wages, Benefits, Healthy Environment
Cons
That I didn't know about them sooner

Busy work
Veterinary Technician (Former Employee) - Sacramento, CA - February 6, 2023
You are required to use your own personal phone in which you do not get compensated for. Be aware that your schedule may change with no notice ahead of time. They do not pay out meal penalties nor follow California work guidelines.
Pros
Paid holidays
Cons
Healthcare, scheduling, no work life balance

Excellent Culture-Amazing Medicine
Been with The Vets for over a year and a half. I love the company all the way from the top down. The medical teams practice an amazing standard of care, and have awesome resources for reference. The growth potential is there if you want it. I have been in the Veterinary field for over 20 years and can say this is the most I have every been appreciated for my work, and feel like I am heard! Everyday I can say, I want to go to work today!
Pros
Communication and Standard of Care

Focused on work life balance, such a nice change!
Having previously come from a corporate veterinary hospital environment, this company is such a breath of fresh air! The pressure to meet numbers and metrics on a daily basis is not at the center of the work we do. I appreciate the emphasis they place on work life balance and how they care about their employees' well being. The business model benefits those pets that don't do well in clinic settings and those clients that cannot make it in. The amount of time spent at each visit along with the fear free approach really sets the standard for quality medicine.
Pros
Low stress environment
Cons
Changes happen often as this is a younger company and they are a work in progress, Being flexible and adaptable is key

Jobs at The Vets
Good company with big dreams to do better for pets everywhere
Recruiter (Former Employee) - Texas - January 12, 2023
I have worked for The Vets for over a year, and I am very satisfied with the company, my position, and our mission to provide quality preventative care to animals in their most comfortable environment. Based on the work we do, I feel my job serves a meaningful purpose. The team I work on is collaborative, fun, and respectful of one another. As we are a startup, it is necessary to be able to handle frequent change with a grain of salt, and be prepared for some craziness - in a good way.
Pros
Meaningful work, work from home (some teams)/flexible schedule, collaborative and open environment, fair compensation, comprehensive benefits
Cons
Routine outside work hours, Frequent policy changes (startup)

the vets is the vets veterinary company i have ever worked at. most of the clinics are like a conveyor belt of animals. at the vets i have time with the animal and the owner and I'm very relaxed and can talk to the owner and explain everything about his animal. the managers are kind and understanding, and they relay care for my well being!
Pros

Cons

They do not care about their employees
City Manager (Former Employee) - Kansas City, MO - September 19, 2022
After working for The Vets for 5 months, my team was let go with NO warning. We were told they wanted to try a different "business model." The communication with corporate management is terrible to non-existent. Another department in the company was completely blindsided and 20+ employees were let go unexpectedly. This company does not care 1 bit for their employees. Don't let the good pay fool you, if you want any kind of job security, this is NOT the place to work! Absolutely terrible and shady company!
Pros
starting pay
Cons
no communication. no job security. does not care at all about employees

Poor communication
Veterinary Technician (Former Employee) - Denver, CO - January 25, 2022
Tech are on the back burner with this company. If a Dr calls out, the tech is losing hours. Benefits are expensive under one umbrella. Terrible communication.
Pros
Not being stuck in a building all day.
Cons
Overbooked appointments. Failed communication. Technician needs are ignored.
