Quality Control Intern (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILAugust 13, 2018
Great place to work, great benefits, located in an awesome part of the city, free parking which is a huge plus, 10 min walk from the union station and a very clean and professional environment.
Pros
Free dinners and lunches during meetings, professional work environment, new building, free parking.
Cons
9-5 job which wasn't the best. You commute for 2 hours at least if you live outside of the city, so by the time you get home, you have little personal time before going to bed.

Good place for experience but no growth
Project Engineer (Former Employee) –  Dallas, TXJuly 17, 2018
Good company to work for but lacks care on their employees. No work life balance, you will learn a lot from this company but you will not be home until late in the evening. They promise for other job opportunities but unfortunately I was laid off.
Pros
Great learning experience
Cons
Work Life Balance, Lay Offs, Management

Expect long hours and operations too be valued. Safety culture is good however could always be improved. Expect to move after a project is complete to another area.

Don't do it thinking it is a good career path. It is not.
Manager (Current Employee) –  SeattleSeptember 2, 2017
Walsh talks a lot of the right stuff.
However, when you work for them you will see nothing and no one is important to them...Just their bottom line.
No accountability for the very poorly staffed upper management.
Pros
It's a paycheck
Cons
Everything else

Coordinator (Current Employee) –  Chicago, ILMay 19, 2017
If you're looking for a secure job this is the one for you. Any growth you seek will not happen, however you can find positions by moving in a lateral direction. Company took away vacation, and sick time and replaced it with PTO, but only allowed for accrual to begin part way through the year. Which means that employees working under 3 years will have to spread 14 days over the span of 2 years. The roll out was not effective and turnover rates are extremely high. Management is not considerate and work-life balance barely exists.
Pros
Early work day
Cons
Reluctant to give time off, no room to grow

I don't really have a lot to say about The Walsh Group. The only issues I had was because of lack of upper management in my division. Extremely lacked knowledge in the industry.

Learning the Ropes
Senior Proposal Manager (Current Employee) –  Walnut CreekAugust 5, 2014
Change is never an easy thing. Construction companies that are not used to writing technical proposals find it difficult to understand that a repeatable process is needed to be successful. It is a challenge, but one that I am up for. The people are second to none and that makes a huge difference.
