It is a great place to begin your career as they work hard to teach you a lot. They start you by following someone during their sessions multiple times prior to giving you your own caseload. You make your own schedule

Excellent management

Cases always available, helpful and knowledgeable management, opportunity to make a lot of money. Independent work and zero micromanaging. I was very happy here

The pay is above average...........

The CEO in Dallas is on another planet. The upper management in Dallas has forgotten the human side of healthcare. It's all about the bottom line now......The administration and management at the Stafford office is supportive and appreciative.

It is a toxic environment . Need to hire respeakful manahement staff.

The Program Manager for CT is very unprofessional and does not value the RBTs and BTs. The management staff are young and inexperienced and does not value the staff who works one-on-one with the clients.

Pros

none

Cons

You are required to use 3 different apps for work. Lack of respect shown to RBTs

Do not value their employees

If you’re looking for a company that supports and values their employees, this is not the one. Good management at facility level but corporate level is lacking. Not provided uniforms and only one pay increase in almost 5 years

Pros

Scheduling was never a problem

Cons

Poor management on corporate level

Team puts the "Care" in Theracare

The Norwalk office, Bridgeport, and Waterbury teams are comprised of truly wonderful people. They will give you all the necessary supports for you to succeed from day one. They not only care about each other, but will do whatever it takes to help the families and children that are served. It's an all around culture of caring. Caseloads are manageable and co-treatment is encouraged when possible. Continuous education, training, and team meetings are held on a regular basis. The most enjoyable part of the job is witnessing the amazing growth taking place, from a child's first steps, to their first words, and the gratefulness of the parents. TheraCare provides you that opportunity to make a difference!

Pros

Salary, benefits, training, continuous support, excellent communication

Cons

Travel time

Best CF Experience!

I just finished my clinical fellowship with Theracare and loved it so much that I chose to begin my career as a licensed SLP with them. I enjoyed many aspects of the company including the flexibility of my schedule, effective communication amongst management and clinicians, my supportive supervisor, and a healthy work/life balance. From the beginning of my experience, expectations have been clearly set which made it easy to adapt to this setting! I have not had a negative experience thus far, and I would recommend this company to anyone considering EI.

Pros

Flexible schedule, supportive management, clear expectations

Cons

Lack of socialization with coworkers

Not worth applying

This place lacks a bit of everything. There isn't any stability at this place. The CEO lacks empathy and communication skills. The pay isn't worth the stress and pressure.

Love it

High staff:management turnover in recent years. Makes you wonder-but I’ve never noticed a reason for it. Working in EI affords you some distance from any workplace struggles anyway. Staff is always kind and responsive to communication. I enjoy working for this company

Kids are amazing, no room for growth

This agency has changed drastically since mid 2010s. Used to be more sense of workplace community & support from management, supervisors used to actually routinely visit & observe cases. They cut $ corners & handled Covid horribly. If you are an experienced provider you’re essentially on your own, minimal supervision. The kids are the best part of the job but there is zero room to grow. Lots of work outside of session that is not appropriately compensated for.

Great

Company no longer exists but was not a bad company. Long hours and demanding numbers. No longer a vendor for department of education but was helpful with special need kids

Pros

Great pay

Cons

Long hours

Don’t care about their therapists. All about money

Employee owned means nothing. The company will not ask your opinion for any decisions. They gave every employee a 5 dollar raise from janitors to corporate except therapy. In 2020 the president sent out a letter stating they would pay us if we tested positive while working with Covid clients. Not a single therapist was paid only nursing staff and office personnel. So glad I was able to leave this company

Cons

Just about everything

Lowest Pay in the area

Developmental therapists are paid a lower rate than other therapists and also considerably lower than other agencies in the Hartford area. There is no room for negotiating an hourly rate.

Pros

Can determine how much you want to work, make your own schedule

Cons

Low pay, not enough staff to cover caseload

Pays on Time, Not much more to ask for

Great to do documentation via the app!Coordinators work with you to get you the schedule and area you prefer.Paperwork is minimal with early intervention, and staff gives you good notice to get things in. Pay could definitely be better. HR seemed like they didn't want to, or need to, negotiate. Eventually switched to another agency with higher pay. *hourly pay reported was actually per session*

flexible but unpredictable

the job is flexible to a point, but the caseloads can be unpredictable. There is not a lot of room for growth, and you tend to be independent throughout most things.

Hi, we're sorry to hear about your experience. I noticed your location and I think you may have the wrong company. Are you looking for Theracare (of New York)? We're TheraCare Wellness (in California).

Corporate staff were approachable

Employee owned stock options, and I received a yearly raise. The provided me with free cues. I had a flexible schedule which was a big help since I had a baby.

I love this job!

I've been a behavior therapist at TheraCare for a few months now. It's a very rewarding and fulfilling job. Management is very supportive and helps me whenever I need it in a timely fashion. I highly recommend this job to anyone with the proper background.

Administrator was terrible!! Completely disconnected at 5pm

Terrible leadership, or lack thereof. Administrator and DON completely inept!! Would not recommend if you actually want a supportive team. So happy I'm no longer part of that nightmare!!

Pros

Car allowance

Cons

They like to screw people out of their PTO time.

Very nice people but unorganized place to work

I have worked for TheraCare for 2 years now as a contract ABA Therapist. The staff is so nice. Very understanding and flexible and willing to help. But the whole system of how they run things is so unorganized. The hiring process was a headache bc the HR staff kept losing my important documents and I had to keep resubmitting them. And once you start, there is no training. At times you begin a case and have no idea what the child is like or what the goals of treatment are. And the family can cancel your session or decide they don't want to work with you at the last minute and you are not informed of any details. That gave my allot of anxiety in the beginning. But overall the the staff are really great and flexible. The pay is not terrible either.

Pros

Great Staff, decent pay, opportunity for growth, flexible

Cons

No training, unorganized business, cases are not always reliable

they don’t care

The only good thing about theracare is their automated system. there is a high turnover of therapists snd they don’t care that clients that are home based cancel at the last second. You lose hours and hours a week due to this. Beware.

Pros

none

Cons

too many to list
