I truly enjoyed my job at Thoroughbred Fulfillment! I was sad to have to leave.
Warehouse order picker / Material handler (Former Employee) – Zeeland, MI – October 26, 2017
I was lucky to be hired as a projects order picker and material handler, so I was making a little more money than a lot of the folks there. I enjoyed being able to move around a lot and stay busy as opposed to having to stand in one spot for long periods of time doing repetitive motions.
So for me, the job was great! The only reason I left is because I had to relocate out of town.
Good atmosphere to work in, friendly co-workers, and helpful management.
Comfortable atmosphere, friendly co-workers, knowledgeable and helpful managers, willing to work with you, on your schedule, if needing or wanting, particular hours, or prefer part time to full time employment.
Can get quite warm inside, if going to work as an assembler, you will have to do a lot of standing in one place for long periods of time, and I think they should pay the assemblers a little more money!
Sample production (Former Employee) – Zeeland, MI – February 11, 2018
Co-workers are amazing to work with but there is a certain person who works in the office who finds it her personal mission to make other employees feel bad about themselves. She will belittle you and those around her if you don’t do something she likes.
Other managers out in the warehouse are amazing and upper management does not help them achieve goals. Company is growing but these managers are expected to keep up with better times and more production with hardly any staff. People call in daily, product is lost daily. Company will throw lost inventory back on the client vs taking responsibility themselves.
Overall not a great company to work for. Work is easy but advancement is limited as well as very poor hourly pay. Also there is a lack of bathrooms in this place. Work somewhere else where pay is higher then $10/HR. A ton of high schoolers work here as well. Company has poor benefits and no bonuses. CEO took away profit sharing due to the cost of errors in the warehouse. Go to GENTEX, or any other factory and you’ll make more and you’ll be somewhere employers appreciate you. Do not waste your time here!!!!!
Orrder picker (Former Employee) – Zeeland, MI – February 4, 2018
Very stressful, they will bring you to tears...don't believe the ad when it says you will only have to lift up to 25 lbs!!! They make you get your own restock and 75% of the time you will be lifting or moving boxes weighing way more than 25 lbs. They will tell you that they have nobody available for restock so yo have to get your own. The reason for no restockers? They have such a high turnover in employees. Can't keep people.
Order Picker (Former Employee) – Zeeland, MI – January 24, 2018
Small plant, and they play overhead music all day. The CEO does walk the production floor. There is a small department there, that the management feels they can not live without the “lead” person in that area. This individual will demean you tears. The management has yet to wonder why the last several people “walked out”. Not much room for advancement.
Project assembler (Current Employee) – Zeeland, MI – April 18, 2015
Thoroughbred provides a fun and energetic environment. Project hours for part time run 9-4 and for full time 9-5:30. The energy level is always good, and they have the radio going all day so there is never a boring moment. All the workers are easy to get along with and will provide an amazing work place.
