Like the name says, have to use a 2x4 against ones head to get point across
Assembler (Former Employee) –  Portland, OROctober 8, 2018
The accountability across departments stinks, double standards exist everywhere
Great place to learn, however lack of vision, strategy and focus on current work force drove lots of dis-function and confusion within organization.
Pros
free lunches, and love the Friday donuts
Cons
work life balance, lack of direction throughout management, no strategic plan, lack of accountability

Great owners, poor managers
doesn't matter (Former Employee) –  Tualatin, ORAugust 7, 2018
The owners at Timbercon are awesome. They go out of their way to make the employees feel appreciated. They try to make it a fun and fulfilling place to work.

However, the managers do not listen to the employees and allow drama, playing favorites, and finger pointing to become out of control. As long as you are willing to not talk to anyone, keep your opinion to yourself, and just do what they say....you will be fine here.
Pros
great owners, good pay
Cons
poor managers

Not Challenging Technically
Engineering Manager (Former Employee) –  Tualatin, ORMay 27, 2018
The most challenging aspect of engineering was to provide manufacturing product drawings in a timely manor. This was due to the large number of product types.
Cons
Management goals were far greater than the investment provided

Great to work with, not to work for.
I'd rather not say (Former Employee) –  Tualatin, ORAugust 2, 2017
The people working in the office are great to work with. The company culture is fun and energetic and everyone treats each other like family.

That said however, the upper management is run by teenagers who only pretend to listen to their employees' ideas about how to grow the company or improve the processes. There were multiple reports and plans that were asked for and then never read. Proposed projects were often shot down only to be suggested by the management team weeks later.

The company culture is great, but the management team needs to grow up.
Pros
Lot's of social activity within the staff. Very friendly.
Cons
Upper management is run by teenagers.

Made military cables with fibers for customers. Measured and cut materials according to required dimensions. Cleaned, waxed and prepared molds for use. Labeled and packages fiber glass products. Inspected, tested fiber glass products using specialized testing equipment and adjusted completed components to ensure that they meet specifications and customer order requirements.

Assembler 1 (Former Employee) –  Lake Oswego, ORJanuary 16, 2014
Making fiber optic cables is not too difficult, but the way the company is run leaves a lot to be desired.

Unorganized Management with competing agendas
Administrative Assistant (Former Employee) –  Tualatin, ORJune 28, 2013
For the past 6 months, i was given the responsibility of four separate position with no support, training or additional compensation. Requesting an honest evaluation of my role and asking about a change in job title ultimately lead to me being labeled as "not a team player," and ultimately dismissed. Unless you've been there since the beginning (in which case, you can do whatever you want and get away with it),or are particularly skilled at brown nosing, expect to be completely taken advantage of, and be given job responsibilities egregiously beyond your job description. All while the management focuses on hiring their 3rd VP of Sales in a year, and takes 8 months to install toilet paper dispensers in the rest rooms.
Pros
good health insurance benefit, committed co-workers
Cons
everything else

Engineering Technician (Former Employee) –  Tualatin, ORJanuary 21, 2013
Company drives employees to grow and self improve.
Expectations are high at times and overtime is required to work in this company no excuses
Co-workers are like family it’s a small company only in Oregon.
Management is overpowering inside Timbercon several managers all wanting deadlines. It`s difficult to establish a priority for projects.
Things I enjoyed manufacturing products that are extremely difficult in nature. Supporting a customer that was positive you couldn’t build a product to the proper specification.
Pros
famliy company, drives people to improve.
Cons
management lack of communication to employees and support on projects, pay tends to be low in all fields.
