Youth Service Worker (Former Employee) – Cary Home for Children – March 11, 2018
I worked for a division of corrections working with juveniles. It was not easy and at times very trying but worth the experience. They paid very well and offered a great deal of training to assure you knew what you were doing with the teens. If it was not an internship I may have stayed longer. The management was wonderful but there were some members of staff I worked directly with who were catty, they usually did not last long.
The political climate can be volatile to departments under the politicians
Executive Director, Court Services (Former Employee) – Lafayette, IN – October 24, 2017
The job itself, combining programs and bringing them into compliance with state regulations was challenging but inspiring. Working in county government within a political climate was sometimes stressful.
Job continuity is precarious due to working for elected officials
Valuation Specialist / Quality Control (Former Employee) – Lafayette, IN – April 3, 2017
HR dept is less employee friendly than it should be. Working for an elected official promotes a feeling of insecurity because there is really no governing body or person that they have to be accountable to so at least every four years an employee has to be re-hired if the new elected official chooses to excercise that option.
Legal Assistant (Current Employee) – West Lafayette, IN – November 8, 2016
A fairly easy place to work, great management, but they do not allow benefits to most workers. Convenient hours, but they do not offer full time. If full-time was offered it would be a great place to work.
