Exceptional hires but not exceptional treatment
TLD gives you the immediate perception that it is an exceptional place to work at first. It hires exceptional employees but treats them in a subpar fashion. It places subtle high demands on its workers and tempts individuals to work lots of over time in order to drive production. However the compensation does not match the dedication and drive that a employee would show. The original understanding of time spent in this company is that you always have 40 hr work weeks which is true however the deman can become substantial depending on the sustainability of the employees endurance or the demand of the work orders. TLD originally had an extremely poor work culture but due to very minor efforts has improved in a minimalistic fashion.

Very Unprofessional
This has to be the most unprofessional place. One minute they are calling and emailing you to offer you a position with the company. You go to work and give your notice. Then you come home a day later and HR is saying sorry you DONT have the job. The person who hired you doesnt even have the audacity or ethics to call to apologize. So unprofessional.

Hostile work enviroment/ Managerial nightmare
I worked at TLD for over two years in an entry level Supervisory role. First the positives; the benefits were good, great 401k, great medical, good #of personal time, RONCE (year end bonus) was great, paid Christmas vacation, excellent company employee parties, and more pizza parties than one person could handle. Now the negative, in the military department, it is controlled by two Forman, that spend more time fighting one another creating in-fighting between their respective departments, than getting the job done. One Forman runs his section by verbally abusing his staff, while the other results to being condescending to his staff, like they are in kindergarten. All the while not having the confidence in their subordinate supervisors to manage their employees without the Foreman’s direct interference. Many excellent employees were run out of the company by the Foreman, even though their subordinate supervisors want to keep them. Multiple complaints were made to management with minimal results, which brings to the conclusion that Management did not care about the employees. Engineers were coddle and not held to the same standard as Production. So engineers would send out faulty prints, and forms in which their supervisor refused to have them correct it. This put them in direct violation with ISO, so the engineers loop hole around it by keep updating the red stamp.
Very cold in the winter, extremely hot in the summer.

Highly stressful environment, even the Foreman calls the place the “Meat Grinder”. If you need experience, electrically or mechanically in order

This company is on it's last legs.
The engineering Dept was run by a very nice guy who just sat there. A fresh out of school engineer was the hotshot/bully of the place and nobody cared when he sabotaged others work.

This is not a good work environment base on the job that you are required to do,you are always at risk of getting hurt,they don't pay well and the opportunity to grow is minimal.

Hostile workplace and hazardous to safety and health
Worst place I have ever worked. OSHA shows up, cites this business, company makes a few changes to satisfy OSHA and get the fines reduced, but everything reverts back to the same bad practices that brought OSHA there in the first place.

A typical day would start with a daily briefing followed by me immediately getting to work on my unit for the evening. I learned to perfect my time management skills.Hardest part of the job was not having the necessary tools and parts to complete assigned task. The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to use my hands and mind to build and create.

Very hostile and toxic workplace
The company does not provide you with the tools necessary to be prepared and successful at your task. The work environment was very hostile and segregated, and management lacked experience and leadership. The workplace was not held to a high level of professionalism. It was poorly kept and this affected the success and morale of the employees. The office workers were kept in better environment best suited to handle the elements, whereas the warehouse employees worked in an environment that was vulnerable to the elements. For example, when it rained the roof leaked, during winter there was not adequate heat, and in the summer the heat can get unbearable. Overall, TLD was not a pleasant company to work for.

If you're willing to work, TLD is a great company to work with. Good management and team, with plenty of benefits. Paid vacation and union membership available.

Interesting product
Place is alright. Has a reputation for not paying well and I am experiencing that right now. Work environment is descent but the facility is run down and needs an improvement (Office areas anyways).

Great place to work
Maintenance around the building looking for garbage and any safety hazards. What ever needed to be fixed I fixed and did mostly all the work and took pride in what I did.

TLD is a extremely fasted passed multi-cultured assembly company .

Micro managed. Daily expectations are difficult to achieve with communication breakdown between manufacturing and warehouse representatives.

This is an aerospace factory. The work culture is that of a sweat shop. Poor management,segregated rules and favoritism is a part of it. A lack care for employees.

People are willing to Teach
I make sure that the engineers get there paper work and supplies on time. Make sure everything is organized as well. I learned about thermodynamics while I was there. That was actually the most enjoyable part was that I could learn about my major. People are also willing to teach when I asked questions.

Horendous place to work
Employees are very much underpaid, and worked hard. TLD is in the top 3 companies in CT with HIGHEST turn over rating. Management is very political, and will always ride you for every little thing wrong. I am management I completely disagree. I disagree so much, I'm actually frowned upon. It's only a matter of time till that company goes under do to POOR management.

Overall not a good place to work. As a forklift operator be prepared to work outside at all times in non heated forklift for your entire shift at below freezing temperatures . Group leader belittles the staff and expects humans to preform as robots. While outside on the forklift you get no heads up as to when the bell for breaks or lunch rings so most of the the time those breaks and lunch are shortened. Group leaders just sit around and verbally abuse staff by yelling and using derogatory language. Beware of this place they don't value their employees.

Typical work day is looking, looking for tools that are now gone because all the felons stole them , the double edge sword At TLD, is you better look busy or you will be fired, but when theirs no work the management will tell you to just go look busy, or you'll be fired, The company has ridiculous employee turn over. The hiring staff is out of touch with a real production atmosphere. And prepare to sign your life away TLD does everything they can so they cant get sued but they say one thing and do another. Co workers walk around all day and complain on how they hate the place. Any one that gets hired with good skills quickly leave, due to the company employee moral.

Low Paying Sweat Shop
Horrible place to work for. Most of the employees are convicted felons from prison or non us citizens which most have not even graduated high school. Lots of politics with management and supervisors, if you get on their bad side they will find a reason to fire you. Huge layoffs every year and that's with company growth. Very disorganized as a whole company. You have to dedicate your life here on OT just to make a decent paycheck. This place will make you old before your time.
