Very Aging Facilty

Indeed Featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Facilty is very old like many others. Old school culture, yet the people are the reason this place does as well as it does. The new units are the golden children and take priority. The rest make do with what they have. Growing pains and culture shift are in full swing.

Great team environment. Advancing was no issue with a lot of potential. Disappointed the company sold and changed everything. Worked there for 5 years.

Job stability and poor comp

Total is well known for being under market compared to other majors for salaries. HR refuses to promote based on results and performance but solely on years of experience. Lots of incompetent people in higher roles because they’ve been around 20-30 years. That being said they rarely lay people off which is nice for job stability but be prepared to carry dead weight.

Good faith notice penalized by immediate termination before bonus payout

Immediate termination by the company upon turning in a 3 week notice. To avoid paying a bonus due 3/15, the department leadership chose to forgo the transition despite being fully aware of the high turnover and severe knowledge gap the department is already facing.

Diversity and Inclusion

Great company to work for in team environment. Management is accessible and pleasure to work for. Always learning something new and given ad hoc projects.

Cons

Management, balance travail/famille

Be honest and prompt

Be sure not to overthink anything. Leave your nerves at the door. My experience was one of a kind. Prior experience working in a chemical refinery would be best in my opinion.

Oil Corporation with great pay and benefits but little room to grow profesionally

- Typical work day 9-10hrs - learned about bulk fuel storage facilites and management, aviation operations and aviation fueling operations, taker receipt operations, oil spill response, API Standards - Upper Management cares only about the bottom line, provide little to no support to mid level managers, no coaching or mentoring provided - The hardest part of the job was having no support from HR to deal with toxic subordiantes - The daily challenges of running a bulk petroleum storage and distribution facility.

Pros

Pay and benefits

Cons

Little to no support from leadership, poor HR support, toxic subordinates

Total oil company is a multinational company that operates in more then 80 countries in the World, and it's very highly reputable

The work begins every day by taking stock of the products. The workers are being supervised as they go on with their daily work routines. The most enjoyable is when i go out to the oil refinary to place an order for products to be supplied, and also when receiving the products. The hardest is during the reception whereby it is found that the products have been adultrated and having to write a report to this effect. This is very stressful because returning the product will be at my peril if the product is detremined otherwise and therefore the cost will be borne by me. Another stressful issue is when dealing with customers. They often come up with complaints and i have to spend time resolving them.

Pros

emullements, out station allownaces and access to people with high authority.

Cons

No health or dental care insurance, and no advancement

nice environment

I supervised 15 employees, directing operations of a high-volume convenience store, coordinating all personnel scheduling, inventory record keeping and control, financial/record keeping, coaching and employee training. Establishing programs to increase sale and determining profitability/loss of different components.

Pros

nice environment

Cons

none
