It’s a glorified gentleman’s club. Very cliquey. It’s about who you know not what you know an how much money you can bring to the table in terms of membership sales and PT revenue.
Among coworkers, fantastic.
Among Upper Level management, horrible abusive and fake.
Intense but fun. Some sort of challenge on a daily basis.
I worked at NYSC for 8 years. I loved personal training there but most recently had a for lack of better words the most unprofessional treatment by the current GM. Not only did this person interview me into believing I was great for the job but she never got to me. I was waiting a week. I sent an email. No response. I called several times. No response. So I called again today and not only did she not remember who at all I was, she did not even remember interviewing me. No follow up, no honesty.
For the very first time At NYSC I am disgusted by the way I was treated by the general manager in Greenwich. Very unprofessional.
An excerise club
Apathetic and non collaborative.
It was very stressful. I didn't know where my next sale was coming from. Im starting a family and having that makes my work life intolerable.
Casual and friendly
Office culture leaves alot to be desired. Lots of in company politics.
I enjoy working and cleaning for the very low pay but dealing with the Front desk and member consultants was the worst part of my experience. If you enjoy cleaning it great but the gossips, coldness and unfriendliness of the coworkers is a big turn off.
