Housekeeper (Former Employee) –  Fort waJuly 22, 2017
I worked here for a few short months loved it at first but then things started to get unorganized they kept moving me to other areas without training the managment sucked bad and the amount of work was ridiculous for the pay and it seemed like they never cared what was going on in your life just as long as you show up to work and do just that..work

NURSE (Former Employee) –  Fort Wayne, INNovember 21, 2016
This place treats the employees with no respect. Workload is unfair, always understaffed and work as a aide and a nurse. Have to find your own replacement for hard earned vacation.
Pros
The residents.
Cons
Understaffing, unfair treatment.

Fun Coworkers, Bad Management
Dietary (Former Employee) –  Fort Wayne, INJune 15, 2016
The job was a fun experience with great coworkers. Management is a cluster and disorganized. Do not recommend unless you're a high school student.

RN (Former Employee) –  Fort Wayne, INMarch 9, 2016
Management threatens employees to accomplish what they want. Absolutely no benefit or recognition to the employees. Very negative environment and no team work. Unable to trust anyone. Bad nurse / staff patient ratio. They won't even listen to the families complaints. They have also hidden serious unethical treatment to patients without telling anyone. It is al about the money. No stability. There is a reason there is a high sign on bonus. They cannot retain who they hire and train. Sadly the current situation is due to how management has treated the employees. They are reaping what they have sewn.

Great place to start your nursing career with LOTS of room for advancement!
RN Charge Nurse/Supervisor (Current Employee) –  Fort Wayne, INMarch 4, 2016
Towne House offers the CNA class free of charge. This is a great way to get your "feet wet" with the world of nursing. I highly recommend the class to anyone considering a career in nursing. Once hired, there is a ton of room for advancement. Scholarship programs available for those who wish to pursue a career in nursing at Towne House- LPN or RN. If you are looking for a place of employment that feels like an extended family, this is definitely the place to go. About 50% of employees have been employed for 5 years or more.
Pros
Family-like atmosphere, residents are great, flexible scheduling, lots of LT employees (5 yrs +), management offers autonomy to staff
Cons
Working weekends and holidays- but that's just healthcare!

server, host, cooks help (Former Employee) –  Fort wayne indianaAugust 17, 2015
Good for high schoolers. Management tries to walk all over waitstaff. Good hours though. The key is to be up front and bold in what you need. Good experience and can move up.
Pros
flexible.
Cons
No breaks, rules change all the time.

CNA/Caregiver (Former Employee) –  Fort Wayne, INMay 10, 2013
A typical day consists of getting the residents up in the morning, bathing, dressing, and taking them down to breakfast. After breakfast you take them to the common area where there is a tv or crafts are done. exercising classes are also offered. in-between that time you are cleaning up their bedroom and making beds. restroom breaks happen often where you assist them and clean them up after. during lunch time you help other CNAs feed the residents that arent capable to do it on their own. At the end of your shift you have to chart everything that happened throughout the day with each resident. I have learned a lot at the job like taking care of people and having more respect for CNAs. The co-workers are great and are there to help you out when you need it. the hardest part of the job is gaining strength to lift the patients and also having patience. the most enjoyable part is being able to help someone that is unable to do it themselves.

Waitress, Hostess, Cook's Help (Former Employee) –  Fort Wayne, INAugust 24, 2012
A typical day at work is hectic. I loved working with the residents and all the staff. Everyone was so kind-hearted. I knew after I had been employed that for the rest of my life I am suppose to help people and make people smile. A lot of the supervisors and nurses were a huge inspiration.
