Accounting Clerk (Former Employee) –  Hickory, NCSeptember 12, 2018
If you want a place where you're treated poorly because you're not the class clown or the popular one, then this is the place for you. If you get on your supervisors wrong side for any reason, they will make your life unbearable and God forbid if you actually use your PTO (3 days a quarter) without prior approval this is a big no-no even if you're sick, have a death in the family or your house burns to the ground you better get prior approval. By the way that's all you get, no paid vacations or sick pay you are responsible to manage those measly 3 days for emergencies. The health insurance is pricey with barely any coverage which your poor salary barely covers a cost of living. If you're really good at puckering up and don't mind co-workers spreading lies to make them look good and you look bad to your supervisors, then you will absolutely love working here.
Pros
Few friends I did have, James with Liazzos!
Cons
Pay, Benefits, No vacation pay, cutthroats

A fast paced, high energy work environment
Logistics Manager (Former Employee) –  Malden, MAAugust 14, 2018
It's always been my contention that "produce does not sleep." Understanding refrigerated commodities as it relates to fluctuating produce and transportation markets and accurately predicting such fluctuation on a daily basis is the only way to succeed in a such a competitive industry. Management team(s) hired very well here. Each employee brought an ability to mold their personalities to succeed working as an individual with minimum oversight as long as such an employee understood their role and "got it" in terms of what we were trying to accomplish, making money via excellent service as well as competitive selling of our produce commodities. In terms of workplace culture we referred to ourselves as a "functioning dysfunctional family," but it still felt like family. Sometimes the hardest part of the job would be those rare cases where a piece of business did not go as well as it was meticulously planned for. Learning to quickly get over such an instance and get on to the next item in a situation like that is very important. The most enjoyable part of the job comes is the repeat business that came as the result of constant search for the right vendors and customers who see the big picture in terms of benefiting year round essentially working for success on both sides of the ledger.
Pros
free lunches, entertaining clients/customers/vendors, positive work environment
Cons
long hours, but generally not so bad when one likes what one does

Don't work here unless you enjoy working with dishonest and immoral people
Business Analyst (Former Employee) –  Overland Park, KSJune 20, 2018
Starting from the interview, they promise you everything under the sun to get you interested. Then, when they get you hired on, you slowly start to see how much they lied. The salary is well below the industry average, benefits don't start until almost two months after you start, and middle management is only interested in what others think of you instead of how well you perform. The environment seems friendly at first but almost immediately people are start tracking your every move to report to middle management. So the entire time you work, you have to look over your shoulder and have to think twice about taking a bathroom break. Everybody is all too willing to throw you under the bus in order to take some pressure off themselves. Training is pretty much non existent. You are expected to know everything before you start working and recieving help or asking questions is counted against you. People will also intentionally mislead you in order to make themselves look better.

This is a casual place to work. All employees are friendly and ready to help each other in whatever area. I feel that to grow within the company all depends on who you know in the company.

General Manager (Current Employee) –  Hickory, NCNovember 21, 2017
The management is seriously lacking direction and guidance. Leadership is not willing to take a stand for policies and procedures. Each department has it's own set of rules. The "boys club" is very much alive and well.

(Data Processing) Stressful but motivating work environment, always busy
Edi Processing Assistant (Current Employee) –  Hickory, NCNovember 13, 2017
Transportation Insight is a wonderful growing company in Hickory NC, and I have been a proud employee here for almost 2 years. There are pros and cons to every job.. Although they start you off with high hopes -- giving you the impression that you can potentially make much higher than your entry pay, they make it nearly impossible to get a raise of more than a dollar or two. Despite this, there is much competition and motivation to set high goals since each person's performance is essentially public.

The company is growing tremendously every year, great work place with co-workers and environment. Only downfall is the management says they are going to change certain things, or do this or that, but never stick with there word. Also wish that managers would treat all there employees the same. (Part-time get less acknowledged than Full-time employees)

Supply Chain Senior Consultant (Current Employee) –  Hickory, NCSeptember 16, 2016
A lot of nice people work at TI. It's a terrific place for a new graduate, or career changer.

There's a lot of lip service about doing the right thing, but that's not reflected in actions.
Pros
Great people
Cons
Many offerings are of dubious value.

Management has no clue and it shows in high turnover. Promising training and never delivering. One person trying to figure it out while the rest of the dept chats or stays on cellphones. A shame for a growing company.......

Processing Assistant - Former Employee - Hickory, NC
Processing Assistant (Former Employee) –  Hickory, NCApril 13, 2016
Don’t expect much training in the Data Entry Department at TI. They show you what to do for about a day (maybe two if you’re lucky) and then throw you out there to fend for yourself. You either get it or you don’t. There is so much to learn in this department because each company’s invoices are different. If you ask questions you feel like you are bothering people. During my time there, the management didn't really care enough to give me any feedback although I specifically asked for it.

The starting salary is $11 an hour and you are considered a temp for 90 days. In this time you are expected to input 25 invoices an hour. After the job becomes permanent you are on production. Any invoices that you input over the 25 will help increase your salary. The amount you do is averaged out per month. They neglect to tell you that the deck is stacked against you. If you make one (1) error they will take 4 (or 5) invoices from your total count. Without proper training, you could make a lot of errors.

For a billion dollar company the pay is really shabby. It’s like they are trying to give the employees in this department carpel tunnel by making this a production job.

Breaks are 10 minutes, not 15 like most companies. This company stresses breaks for smokers which is bizarre. If you need a break to eat or drink or rest they are not too concerned. There are also very few restroom facilities for the amount of women that work there.

When I started working in the Data Entry department I got the flu and was absent 2 out of 11 days. This department is not tolerate of sickness
more... so we parted ways. The Processing Department seems to have quite a bit of turnover.  less
Pros
Nice people, lots of natural light in the building

A typical work day is pretty normal. There are some moments through out the day were emails and phone calls pick up but not to crazy. I work by myself most of the time. I am able to work at my own pace and prioritize the most important tasks. The pay is OK. The benefits is pretty expensive. Most of all I really like this company.
