Great Accounting Internship with Supportive People
Intern (Current Employee) – Lancaster, PA – July 23, 2018
Interning at Trout has been a great experience. I learned more within the first few weeks than I ever would have imagined. It is extremely hands-on, and even though summer is not their busy season, it gives the staff more time to help you one-on-one. Overall, I'm so thankful to have had my internship here, and I couldn't imagine it being anywhere else.
Great people, supportive, hands-on
Summer is not their busy season so interns don't have a ton of work.
Lancaster - Receptionist (Former Employee) – Lancaster, PA – February 6, 2017
Worked here from 2015-2016 as the receptionist. Very quiet and well kept office even with having almost 100 employees. Employees are kind and work well together even during tax season. Typical day consists of answering/transferring calls, logging outgoing mail, dropping of FedEx packages, scheduling lunches, keeping conference rooms clean and fully stocked, seating clients in correct conference rooms, handling any requests from CPAs in the office. Management was lacking but was taken care of during my time there. Great place to work, no room for growth unless you go back to school for accounting.
Great pay, free lunches, vacation days are plenty
Employees can be rude when stressed, very strict no-tattoo policy
Low end Comp, zero work/life balance, poorly managed
Accountant (Former Employee) – Lancaster, PA – January 4, 2016
Low end of industry compensation ranges. Unwillingness of management to help employees achieve a positive work/life balance. Management inconsistent in general and dishonest with employees in order to retain them.
