The firm rewards hard working individuals and is always looking to update policies to improve the workplace. You get to work with some talented individuals and everyone plays a role in the firm's continued growth. Employees are recognized on a weekly basis when quality work is performed and goals are hit.
Legal Assistant (Former Employee) – Rochester, NY – January 17, 2018
CEO is a man to respect, unfortunately a lot of things go on behind his back. Culture is back stabbing The administrative manager has his favorites and they are the ones who thrive. He sets people up for failure that he does not like He delays reviews and only provides on time reviews to those that he wants to progress. He blatantly lied about many things Prejudice of older workers
Partner (Current Employee) – New York, NY – December 10, 2017
The work environment was very stressful. I received less support than anticipated. Work quality did not seem to be valued. Management had very little interest in people. negative qualities were emphasized over positive qualities. The offices were beautiful and the staff very helpful. The benefits and salary were commensurate with other employers. Time off was generous. In certain areas of law, the firm is the leading expert.
Retainer Agreement Coordinator (Current Employee) – Albany, NY – August 13, 2017
Ive been with Tully Rinckey for almost a year now and there is a tremendous amount of growth and opportunities for advancement. It truly is one of the largest law firms in the nation and one of the fastest growing. Always expanding and looking for opportunities. The founders are amazing men to work for, very business minded, but also kind towards their employees. The hardest part is learning the work. It's a lot to learn and a lot to know, but if you don't know the answer there is always someone to help you find the answer. Management is fantastic and the attorneys are helpful and passionate about their practice areas.
Great place, if you're willing to work hard and learn
Attorney (Current Employee) – Syracuse, NY – July 24, 2017
When I first started here, I did not really know what I to expect. I had never worked for a larger firm before, and I had only little solo experience in a single area of law. It was not long though before TR recognized my potential and involved me in many other practice groups. Since then, I have grown in practice areas that I did not even know I had an interest in. My development as an attorney is beyond what I could have hoped for, and I owe much of it to the willingness of the other attorneys at the firm to take a collaborative role in the development of those around them, including myself. This is something you do not see enough in modern practice.
The moral of the story with this firm is if you work hard and show a desire to learn, you will reap rewards and advance your practice and your career. This firm is a great fit for both young attorneys looking to develop, and established lawyers looking to further themselves.
Flexable hours, understanding management, lots of practice areas to focus in on
Forward thinking and highly challenging work environment
Operations Manager (Current Employee) – Albany, NY – May 2, 2017
A firm that encourages growth and learning, Taking your future in to your own hands is the key to thriving here. Working as part of a team is not just a mantra with Tully Rinckey employees. Some days we work very very hard, some days we have more time to laugh together. Either way in the evening when I leave my office I'm happy with the choice that I've made to be part of something so truly unique.
Honest communication, Tons of learning potential, visionary leadership
Honest communication is sometimes hard to hear-but that is what growth is about.
CFO (Current Employee) – Albany, NY – April 28, 2017
Fast paced environment, but very rewarding. The team atmosphere makes any task or objective attainable. Supporting our attorneys is easy when you have owners willing to invest in the teams around you. Well staffed Legal Support, Finance, Marketing, Recruiting and Client Relations departments. More importantly, we all work together as we are focused on the same goals and objectives. The structure and organization make it easy to hit the ground running.
Great people, always growing, structured and organzied
Finance Clerk (Former Employee) – Albany, NY – December 6, 2016
A typical day of work began at 8am and ended at 5pm. Quite often I was so loaded with work that I would clock out for lunch as required, but would often work through lunch as well. Between generating invoices for attorney review, editing per attorney instructions, and mailing final drafts - client billing took three full days. Thursday and Friday were left to catch up on collections, and A/P duties.
Attorney (Former Employee) – Syracuse, NY – May 20, 2016
I applied to Tully and Rinckey as a civil litigator. Halfway through the interview process the position switched to an area with which I was unfamiliar. I agreed to learn the area with their help and their knowledge that I was inexperienced with this area. I got one day of training and then was expected to just know everything from there. Despite having a 5 year employment contract, they worked loopholes and let me go only 3 months later stating they needed someone with more experience and didn't have time to train me. Since then I've heard they let half the office go and are refilling the positions. Very high turnover rate.
Receptionist (Current Employee) – Washington, DC – September 22, 2014
I have a considerably good benefits package in addition to working in a great office culture. Everyone here is respectful and hard-working. No one here wastes time or is not passionate about what they do. I enjoy coming to work every day!

Tully Rinckey PLLC has made a great work home for me. The attorneys are talented, client services oriented, and really wonderful to work with. There is a system in place for work redistribution when necessary as well. I really enjoy the team atmosphere and definitely recommend the firm to anyone who is considering a position here!

Support Staff (Current Employee) – Albany, NY – March 11, 2014
I wasn’t just looking for a job. I was looking for a career! I interviewed with the hiring manager and was quickly called back for an interview with a member of upper management. From first interview to receiving my offer letter, the whole process only took three weeks (during a major holiday season). The work environment is professional and there is always another team member willing to help. This was definitely a great career decision for me.
Senior Business Development Associate (Current Employee) – Albany, NY – December 14, 2013
Its a fairly typical Law firm environment that is driven by billable time and as such is a bit inflexible in its thinking when it comes to employees etc. Having worked in the high technology industry area all of my career this fairly rigid thinking came as a bit of a surprise to me. The pay is fair but the I would not recommended this industry to any "creative thinkers" or to someone wanting a flexible working environment.
For the past five years, Inc. magazine has ranked Tully Rinckey PLLC among the nation’s fastest growing companies. In fact, since 2007 the firm’s annual revenues have grown by 639 percent to $11.3 million 2013. This robust growth would not have been possible without our structured business model. While we acknowledge a structured environment is not for everyone, it has not prevented the Albany Business Review and Washington Business Journal from naming Tully Rinckey PLLC one of the “Best Places to Work.” We employ over 100 people throughout six offices in upstate New York, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
We believe our structured business model fosters creativity and does not stifle it. For example, our business model has enabled the firm to embrace cutting-edge technologies and creative marketing practices. Forbes has written about our VMware’s vSphere virtualization technology. The American Bar Association has recognized the firm as a pioneer in online video marketing by naming us the winner in the “Short Video” category at its first annual Law Practice Management Law Video Awards. Additionally, we’ve been called a “marketing savvy law firm” for, among other reasons, incorporating QR codes in advertisements.
Tully Rinckey PLLC has a full-time, in-house, award-winning marketing team consisting of business development, public relations and marketing professionals who are dedicated to raising the profile of the firm and its attorneys profile throughout the nation and beyond. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in joining the team.
