Working for Turano baking co
Sales Associate (Former Employee) –  Bolingbrook, ILMay 28, 2018
A typical week youll work in average of 50 hours. Be prepared to do the job the hard way because there is no set rules. Everyone does the job differently. The company has safety rules and regulations yet nobody follows them. After working your shift if you cannot stay overtime and after letting management know why, be prepared to prove your argument. This place is an extreme fast paced job. Be prepared to have a sore by the end of you're shift.
Pros
Insurance, 2-10 minute paid, 30 minute unpaid, lunch break minute breaks in 8 hrs
Cons
Ungrateful management, 12hr or more per shift 6 days a week, sore muscles, lots of stress

National Sales Representative (Former Employee) –  Chicago, ILApril 4, 2018
The managers here favorite certain employees . They would talk about everyone that would walk in the office. It was like you were in highschool all over. This place was a nightmare. There is no room for growth with this company

Racial prejudice, sniping employees, lousy shift rotations, Micro-managment. Lied about rotation of shifts. Prefferential treatment to some employees. No diversity in supervisors
Pros

Put me on overnights. Not wanted. Too many hispanics.

Horrible
Shipping and Receiving (Former Employee) –  Villa Rica, GANovember 28, 2017
Working 12+ hours 6 days a week. A "family" company that doesn't care about your family or needs. Excessive work hours that change at any given moment. 1 week of PTO after a year that has to be taken all at once and you have to let management know what week you want to take at the beginning of the year. No sick time or PTO time that can be taken during the year outside of your planned week. Not a place to work if you have a family or children because you will never see them.

Maintenance Technician (Former Employee) –  Villa Rica, GANovember 1, 2017
I witness the plant engineer curse out an employee and throw a tape measure at him. The hours you work are ridiculous you don’t get any holidays off. The average week was 60 hours and you are treated like you where not wanted

Corporate Executive Chef (Current Employee) –  Berwyn, ILJune 21, 2017
Ownership is very involved in day-to-day management and hardworking. While certainly a conservative company, they are constantly pushing expansion and innovation.

Typical Day: 15-20 Sales calls in the Downtown Market (Cold calling, set appointments, customer management etc)

One of the biggest things I learned with my time at Turano is the power of persistence without being an annoyance.

Turano provides you with a great management team who like to see you succeed and are always willing to assist you when needed

Turano is a fast-moving establishment that focuses on efficiency. I learned a lot about proper customer service and keeping a cool head in a stressful environment.
