Workplace Experience Coordinator (Former Employee) - New York, NY - September 26, 2023
Overall a good experience. Sadly I had to go when the new leadership took over. No longer the same benefits and perks. I was treated well and hope to see the new company flourish.

No positives about this job whatsoever. Constantly being micromanaged and feeling like you are being watched through your laptop camera. Happy I got out of there

It was amazing while it lasted
Executive Assistant (Former Employee) - New York, NY - August 21, 2023
I worked at Twitter pre-EM era. It was a wonderful place to work. Management like in anyplace.. has it’s ups and downs. But I had 2 separate positions during my career there. & I have nothing but positive things to say. I loved the comadery and the workplace culture. Unmatched

Twitter 1.0 (Pre Elon Musk) was a fantastic company
Content Curator (Former Employee) - San Francisco, CA - August 17, 2023
Can't speak for Twitter post acquisition by Elon Musk, but predating him (what we Tweeps call Twitter 1.0) was an almost perfect company to work for. The culture was unparalleled, the opportunities for advancing or growth were pretty good in the Product org, and I always felt supported and genuinely loved by my colleagues.

Great before Elon
Software Engineer (Former Employee) - San Francisco, CA - August 16, 2023
Twitter 1.0 before Elon was great. Now it's a shell of what it used to be. Every single good engineer, sales, finance, lawyer, HR, and workplace employee has already left.

toxic, but still good experience
None (Former Employee) - Atlanta, GA - August 10, 2023
Great place to work. Thought the work culture has become a bit toxic under new administration. Overall still would recommend. Either way, good professional experience.

Good before takeover
Engineer (Former Employee) - Seattle, WA - August 1, 2023
I have been employed with this company for over two years and I have experienced a myriad of changes during my tenure. Initially, this company was a place that harbored a strong work-life balance, supported employee development, and prioritized customer satisfaction. However, in the past year, since the merger and acquisition, things have dramatically shifted and unfortunately, not for the better. Prior to the M&A, our culture was employee-centered and geared towards creating a positive, engaging environment. We were provided with ample opportunities for professional growth, clear career paths, and regular, constructive feedback. There was a strong emphasis on teamwork, and it was this communal spirit that drove us forward and encouraged innovation. We were more than just employees, we were a family, committed to making the company and its product line the best it could be. However, post-acquisition, our dynamic and vibrant work culture has seen a drastic transformation. The new management team seems more concerned with short-term profit margins than the welfare of its employees or the quality of its products. The new bureaucratic structure has caused a significant delay in decision-making processes, leading to less efficiency and employee frustration. Regular employee feedback sessions and performance rewards, which were once staples of our work culture, have become increasingly rare. Moreover, the new leadership lacks transparency. Decisions are made behind closed doors, and we are often left in the dark about the company's direction. This has resulted in confusion, a lack -

It was a fun place to work at
Data Entry/Collection (Former Employee) - Chicago, IL - July 24, 2023
Most enjoyable part was that going to management never felt like something to dread. I was always encouraged to step forward when in need of help. It didn't feel like the typical 9-5, in a good way.

A constant firefight
Senior Client Partner (Former Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - July 20, 2023
Caught up in the crosshairs of a media battle. Difficult to do the actual tasks of the job when you’re regularly losing people and fire fighting. Most of the good, kind people have left.

Not a good fit
Worked tirelessly to attain a very unattainable goal. Pay was mediocre for the amount of work being done.

Smart people, toxic culture
Account Manager (Former Employee) - San Francisco, CA - July 13, 2023
Very typical tech - cultish culture. You end up working with smart people but the whole “love where you work” goes too far. No that Elon is in charge I’m sure it’s a much different place

Twitter 1.0
Communications Manager (Former Employee) - New York, NY - May 23, 2023
Amazing experience that ended when E*** took over. Strong culture and was constantly exciting to work for such an iconic company and product. Left when 1.0 turned into 2.0 and comms team no longer exists.

Elon Musk is Great
Content Moderator (Former Employee) - Remote - April 27, 2023
The people are great and talented. Strategy concerns from the top of the organization breeds uncertainty. The company has been around awhile but has a start-up feel that can blur roles and responsibilities.

Bad workplace ever
Software Engineer (Former Employee) - San Francisco, CA - April 25, 2023
work culture has changed a lot, everyone is not taking care each other anymore so no one find the solution and leave it there only and the product always break, no longer the best place to work.

Eggshells & Fear.
UX Designer (Former Employee) - San Francisco, CA - April 20, 2023
My time at Twitter was a challenging one, to say the least. As a former employee who was affected by Elon's restructuring, I can attest to the fact that the environment at the company was not a pleasant one. I felt that I was constantly micro-managed, which made it difficult for me to feel like I had any autonomy or control over my work. Furthermore, when Elon fired half of my team, it created a tense and uncertain atmosphere in the office. This was only compounded by the fact that we were forced to work long hours - often 60 or more hours per week - which left us feeling drained and burnt out. On top of all this, we lost nearly all of the perks that used to make working at Twitter enjoyable, which was a real blow to morale. The overall feeling in the office was one of walking on eggshells, as everyone was afraid of making a misstep and facing the consequences. Overall, while there were certainly some positive aspects of working at Twitter, my experience was largely overshadowed by the challenges I faced on a daily basis. I would caution anyone considering a job at this company to think carefully about whether they are willing to put up with these conditions.
