U.S. Customs & Border Protection Officer (Former Employee) – Derby Line, VT – September 30, 2018
U.S. Customs and Border Protection evolved after 9/11. U.S. Customs Service and the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service became U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The job change was immense as we all had to learn so much more. We were no longer a service but more into law enforcement. Officers could no longer make decisions.
U.S. Border Patrol Supervisor (USBP) (Former Employee) – Chula Vista, CA – October 13, 2017
I served with the USBP for over 23 years and don't regret a day of it. There were lots of challenges and great experiences along the way. Yes, there are those in the organization best suited for other careers, but they are the exception and not the rule.
If you are considering the CBP as a career, you could do a lot worse, so go for it !!

Get ready for very long unpredictable hours, no family life, politically motivated policies run the organization. Great Benefits but at a cost to your personal life. Travel is a plus to all over the US and some foreign assignments.
