Marine Corps

The Marine Corps is what you make of it. It can open a multitude of doors but can also tend to shut them just as easily. It teaches you about life, comradery and what it means to belong to something greater than yourself.

Best years of my life

Serving in the Marine Corps was possibly the best years of my life. Not all jobs in the military are like the infantry so there are plenty of opportunities to serve your country

Military

It is exactly what it is, no more or less. Do your time and get out, or stay in for the benefits. It's a hole but we deal with it because we have no choice. It was better than being unemployed.

I love my Corps

I served four separate tours in Iraq and I loved every minute of my service. I loved the people and places. I loved going on long deployments and the pay that came along with it.

Excellent place to work, great travel and pay

I absolutely enjoy my time in the Corps! I have 9 years broken time with an original entry date of 1988. But, I have reached my 20+ years of service and it is time for me to retire!

Physical Conditioning and Mental Conditioning

Wake up everyday and work out, go to work and work out mentally. The Marine Corps is the best place to be everyday. There is no better way to say I love my country then by standing tall with the United States Marine Corps, World Finest.

Able to serve my country

Being a Marine enabled me to learn how to be an intelligence analyst, and officer, but also taught me how to become a leader, without the text book classes. It was on the job training how to lead Marines. Everyday was a new experience and besides doing your job, you also had to be a leader.

Pros

Wearing the uniform

Cons

Long deployments
