Yes i call the supervisor
A lot of security companies will train you and assist you with getting your guard card. In TN it's just a 4-hour course and the company will submit your application for you. You have to carry a copy of your application while working until you receive your guard card (which can take a couple months)
You need to Google Security Guard Schools and or Licenses safetyquest.com is a good place to start
In MD there isn't a class. You have to be a potential employee of a Security Company. You pay for the Background Check & Fingerpritting. Then MSP will do their investigation & it is up to MSP to approve or deny you a Guard Card
First you have to go to the office and ask the lady your here to apply for the company and then after you are all done applying then she will set you up for a class training but before she gives you information about the class she is going to give you a paper and that paper will tell you what you will need to being the class.
You have to go to a school and pay it yourself because it remains in your hands
Go too a school and pay for it yourself!

I got my guard card by passing my test the first few days throughout my training course. My background was clean and my urine test was also clear.
