It's great if you like sitting all the time.
Trucker Driver (Current Employee) - Tunnel Hill, GA - September 26, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedWorking at variant sometimes is confusing when your first hired on they tell you they have loads and then your sitting for 2 days or more they need to get different people working for them that can find loads they should have never removed the optimizer because loads are few and in between they tell you that when you first start working here that you would get 2500 to 3000 per week that's a lie sometimes it's good but mostly bad.

Don't waste your time cause if u don"t like the job they will keep your pay
Dedicated Truck Driver (Former Employee) - Cowpens, SC - September 29, 2023
I was in orientation and was promised a no touch freight position and was told to work the dollar tree account for only 3 weeks because the one I was to be on had openings then. They tried to keep me on a touch freight account and it was very hard and I had a hard time. This account has high turn over. Then they had me sitting for days in my truck and they started to play with my guarantee pay. Then they sent me on a load for 2 weeks they kept my pay..Save yourself and stay away from this company..
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Play with your money..

Worst company ever
Truck Driver Class A (Former Employee) - Shippensburg, PA - September 25, 2023
Nothing good to say about this company. When you call to report a problem, be prepared to talk to 3 or 4 different people and the worst thing is that most of them don't know what they are doing.

Productive and fun place to work
Account Supervisor II (Former Employee) - Blue Ash, OH - September 18, 2023
It gets pretty busy and brings a lot of pressure but then it calms quickly. Management is okay but could be better and pay raise would not be bad. I got to meet very great colleagues and employees. It's like a family there.

Although it’s fast paced and demanding, this will end up being your 2nd family and love the place. Very exciting changes being made.
Carrier Support, Operations (Former Employee) - Chattanooga, TN - September 17, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The people were great! Meaning my team, the drivers, all the carriers we dealt with daily, colleagues, and I had awesome managers. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? When you are short staffed and you’re helping someone with a problem, while at the same time another issue arises and you get backed up. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? My department worked remotely, but the work culture when I worked in office was great. Everyone was super friendly and helpful and and the environment is very welcoming. The culture is a bit of a mixture. They have employee resource groups for most everything making everyone feel included. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Assisting others Answering emails Answering/making calls Answering questions Helping my team Repeat

There are many companies out here. Get in where you fit in. That's the trucker way!
OTR Regional Driver (Former Employee) - Frankfort, NY - September 15, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Benefits, paid weekly I was on the tracker supply account up in Frankfort NY. The account itself isn't bad. But the management and store employees can work your nerves when you do you're delivers. I prefer no contact at all dock to dock or drop and hooks. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? As I said previously. Dealing with store employees from Tracker Supply. If you get an over the road or regional account where you just are dealing with a receiving office and get a dock number those are the best. Most Tracker supplies have a mobile ramp you have to back into and they are a pain in the neck to line up with. They tend to move are never centered. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The company is great. The management are always a phone call away. It's just the accounts they have the people at some of the stores are a bit red neckie. What is a typical day like for you at the company? It's been almost 2 years since I've left. Things may be different now. I see more Varient trackers pulling US EXPRESS loads. Nothing any different than the other companies. They hire felons, I saw one disabled guy. So they are pretty liberal and diversified.

I will work there again, but under a different manager
Operations Supervisor (Current Employee) - Cincinnati, OH - September 12, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Working with the driver’s managers needs to learn how to talk with people but the jobs itself was a pleasure to be there What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The manager on how they deliver they constructive criticism do not help with problem-solving What is the work environment and culture like at the company? It was nice everyone work well and do over and beyond a few did What is a typical day like for you at the company? It’s very tight in the morning, but it balances out throughout the evening

Good and fair
OTR Truck Driver (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - September 5, 2023
As a company driver it was fair. They are fair as getting you home. Safety will call and let you know know that try to drive carefully, I know it’s not your fault of cars jumping in front of you. You never get a problem until you start refusing loads or not making it on time. They don’t pay enough for me I seen anywhere between $800 to $1200/ week. I switched to being an owner operator with their lease to purchase, truck payments are high and you don’t make enough after everything is taken out. I started making less than if I was a company driver

VERY UNFAIR! Don’t come here they will try to run you to DEATH!
CDL A Driver (Former Employee) - Detroit, MI - September 4, 2023
They don’t care about how hard or well you work. Countless Posivtive feedback from every store I’ve delivered to. The reward for working great is a punishment. They will continue to overload you and on top of that they will make you run what’s supposed to be trainer routes for new hires ALONE They even try to run you when you’re clearly coming up on or already in violation. Number one scare tactic is threatening to come after your pay by telling you “you’re going to affect your true up”doesn’t matter if you already fulfilled your minimum of 3 trailers for the week and it’s time for your 48 hour reset, they’ll pull that out on you. Lastly if you leave they will put FALSE information on their employment record such as you Back into a parked vehicle so future opportunities won’t consider you when you apple for them. Thank god for DAC reports. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY YOUVE BEEN WARNED.
Pros
Free Showers at Loves
Cons
Horrible Fleet Managers, Horrible Dispatch, Horrible HR, Horrible Safety, etc

Not a good place to work for when you call dispatch to complain about lack of miles they don't do anything about it
OTR Truck Driver (Former Employee) - Chattanooga, TN - September 3, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Low miles and low pay short distance loads days waiting for a load. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not being able to pay your bills What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Dispatch doesn't work well with you to make money. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Sitting waiting for next load or told to take a 34 when you still have hours because they don't have a load for you.

Ok
Driver (Current Employee) - Jacksonville, FL - September 2, 2023
It's really just your average trucking company. It's ok. Has a good amount of full service terminals. Miles were good to start but I've been getting less lately.

TOP PAY! Consistent home time. Great trucks.
Class A CDL Driver (Former Employee) - Ashley, IN - September 1, 2023
Pay is guaranteed and true no matter what! Also very high. Home time every week, but usually only 34hrs. Trucks are always mostly new. Dispatch 24/7 availability.

They pay but be prepared to work 80-100 hours a week if you are a manager or supervisor
Transportation Supervisor II (Former Employee) - Cincinnati, OH - August 31, 2023
Once you’re salary they expect you to work whatever they need you to. Switch shifts cover and doubles with little notice.benefits are decent if a little pricey.

Go somewhere else
Dedicated Driver (Former Employee) - Auburn, IN - August 30, 2023
Its just not worth it. I’ve done OTR and dedicated runs for them but they, as a company, have changed horribly. They don’t seem to actually care about you, the pay is barely minimum wage and you end up just stuck most of the time because no one wants to work with them so you never have a load. Management is rude and condescending always, they never want to get you home yet they tell you that they pride themselves in getting their drivers home on time every time. I had an emergency at home and they left me stranded in TN for 5 days. They refused to give me a load even though i was 0.3 miles from their Total Transportation yard in Loudon, TN. Its just not worth the headache or the mental health issues.
Pros
Weekly paychecks
Cons
Literally everything else

Stressful
Truck Driver Class A (Current Employee) - Blue Ash, OH - August 27, 2023
Stressful. They take your weekly minimum over anything. Pay is inconsistent. Electric pallet jacks were often unavailable and you’d have to use a manual one. You spend a lot of time waiting on loads and or trucks to become available. The job in inconsistent, stressful and not worth the headache.
