Contract Specialist, GS in Whitehall, OH

I have just resigned after 3.5 yrs in the agency. While I am grateful for the opportunity, I am disappointed that the so called "many advancement opportunities" are actually blocked or limited. I was prevented from promotion or even lateral movement from my team because I was one of the most experienced team members. I consistently had new responsibilities added to my role without compensation due to other team members lack of experience or resignation. I eventually became overwhelmed and at times stressed. I expressed this to my supervisor over the last year and nothing helpful was done. I decided that the job security, pay, and benefits were not worth my happiness in the end. I was ask not to leave after submitting the notice and told how valuable I was. It was even said that they could "try" to laterally move me. It was too little too late and not enough to stay. Proceed with caution, just my opinion.

Great place to work and plenty of travel opportunities. Good pension plan and tsp.You can work whatever shift is best for you. It just was kinda rough with all the pay freezes and ever changing evaluation process changes each year.

Good pay, Great benefits, Great retirement. If you come to work every day and work hard nobody will bother, you. You are working to supply the military whatever they need. There is always room for advancement.

The Union cannot save you but the Union will give you the idea of helping you. They can break their own rules when they want to get rid you. You do not have to join the Union to get their services.

SAP Business Analyst / Audit Readiness in Alexandria, VA
on February 18, 2018

I worked approximately 40 hours / week on this government audit readiness contract. I worked independently mostly and met weekly with team to ensure goals were met and new goals established. There was a very diverse team from background, knowledge and experience that provided a great cross-pollination of knowledge.
