Accountant (Former Employee) – NYC – March 31, 2016
This is a company that is trying to grow and become one of the big construction firms. As of now, it is wracked by turnover, and constant changes to the corporate structure and flow. This is a place to really dive into challenging projects with a very tight turnaround, where one interacts on a daily basis with everyone from senior managers to admins. However it is very difficult to be an independent voice, as most decisions must be approved by the CEO/COO of the company. There is a lot of turnover within the office staff and outside vendors.
They are trying to get better, they throw parties/bring in food every so often
Lack of independence/ very top-down approach /work-life balance can be difficult

Do yourself a favor and believe the reviews that are posted online. There's not a lot of reviews online about this company, but please do believe what's out there because I didn't. So I will save you the time & grievance of dealing with the company.
Depending who you report to in this company, you'll more than likely be miserable. You're hired and expected to know everything as soon as you start. There is no training offered, and are thrown into the wolves. When you are drowning and seeking help, no one is there to pull you up. Even when you ask for help!
A few take aways from this review: leadership is poor, turnover is high, low salaries offered, no company culture but miserable people that work for a company because they need to pay rent in NYC.
People leave managers not companies, will always be true.
Professional workplace environment with room for growth

A very friendly and professional environment where higher management and executives really listen to what you have to say. They hold meetings on a weekly basis to assure everyone is up to date with projects and what's going on internally. Yes things fall through the cracks at times but management works really hard to assure things also get fixed
lenient, professional, company perks like summer fridays off

Terrible company. It is family run and wrought with a great deal of extended family that makes up the entirety of management. Most of these individuals have been handed positions they don't have credentials for and it shows in both their work & office manner. You'll be expected to do your boss' job and accept all the blame for any of his shortcomings.
There is no room for growth and the office culture is one that centers around threatening you with grave repercussion if things go wrong but ignoring any kind of success. My short time here was marked with plenty of comments about how my contributions were nothing special and upper management could easily do my job or find somebody to replace me.
Do yourself the favor of avoiding working with & for this company.
