Sad that there are so many unhappy employees at UAB...and honestly, some of us in the Navy Blue scrubs are just as unhappy. the point system is horrible, I can say that employees attendance should be on a case by case basis. Like someone mentioned, life happens. You have NMs that seem to be more concerned about staffing other units and petty details than their own units.
The point system was terrible. I’ve never been close to being fired in all my years of working until I worked there. Life happens and you have to take off from time to time. You shouldn’t be punished for that. Also working around people who think they are better than you because of the color of there scrubs. If you don’t have on navy blue scrubs, sea foam green scrubs, or a white coat, you’re nobody. People who wear royal blue scrubs are automatically seen as inferior. There can also be bullying by other employees at times. There are so many immature employees that work there; both young and old. Very rude as well. I’ve been hung up on by so many doctors, nurses, and other employees so many times. You will definitely have to develop a back bone. Parking sucks also. Dont work on M8. It’s heck on earth.
I can only speak for myself, but my job at UAB is constant stress. It never ends until you clock out. It puts weight on my shoulders and the same for my coworkers. UAB has changed my level of happiness in my life.
Very high pressure
