Terrible management that resulted in loss of contract
Data Center Technician (Former Employee) - Ashburn, VA - February 15, 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedToo many chefs in the kitchen when it comes to management which results in contradictions and inefficiencies that would easily be avoided in other similar environments. Lack of accountability on nearly all levels results in months of delays and backlogged and repeated work with no one to address said issues properly. Do not value employees input or take suggestions seriously; management has tunnel vision when it comes to their initiatives.

Driving for Uber was enjoyable and fun because I like meeting new people.
Uber Driver (Former Employee) - Washington, DC - September 26, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? I enjoyed meeting new people and driving to many unfamiliar locations in the DMV area. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Driving in rush-hour traffic was the most stressful part. Plus, it was stressful when doing Uber pool pickups, customer often moved from their pick up location. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The culture was treat others/riders the way you want to be treated. It was often difficult to connect to a live Uber representative in crisis situation’s. What is a typical day like for you at the company? A typical day driving for Uber was fun and relaxed until rush-hour traffic. Doing rush-hour traffic it seem to be a little dangerous.

Horrible pay, ignorant people
Transportation and Logistics Specialist (Independent Contractor) (Former Employee) - Scranton, PA - September 26, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? If you like being mistreated, taken advantage of, spending more money then you actually make. Then nothing. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not making money for your work What is the work environment and culture like at the company? The environment is inside your personal car. The culture is a joke

I enjoy driving for Uber because I get advantage of choosing my own schedule and work pace. The compensation is decent and I like driving, so it's a win for me.

It’s a grind
Contract Driver (Current Employee) - Kansas City Urban Region, MO - September 25, 2023
You can’t be the flexibility, however, with increasing inflation, and just overall dangers in society, Uber is not worth it anymore. Passengers can be very hostile and entitled.
Pros
Flexibility, scheduling
Cons
Dangerous neighborhoods, belligerent passengers, false allegations, that affect ratings

Ridiculously Underpaid
Driver (Former Employee) - Chicago, IL - September 23, 2023
Longgggg hours just to make less than minimum wage after expenses. Promotions & surges are things of the past, the low iq good for nothing Uber doofuses be mad greedy now days taking almost 80% commission & giving you the scraps rates are beyond ridiculous. I wouldn’t recommend Uber to anybody as it’s not worth your time for that mediocre salary
Pros
Make your own schedule
Cons
Pay, rides, going in blind to pick somebody up

Jobs at Uber
Uber drive
Driver (Current Employee) - Los Angeles, CA - September 22, 2023
Great company really helps you out and stays true to their word. In the long time I had with Uber I never had a bad experience or any sort of weird situation when it came to how they handled situations with me.

Awful
Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Atlanta, GA - September 21, 2023
Pay has gone down horrendously, their help hotline is terrible and useless, and the passengers no longer tip. They'll leave trash in your car, not be at the right pick-up location, and make absurd request with little compensation.

Meet new people
Good place to work. Pay was ok until a couple months ago when no bonuses became rare. Surges are a thing of the past. Pay became difficult to live off of.

Flexible and productive
Very easy and fun way to meet new people and make money. It’s very flexible in where you can pick and choose your own schedule. It also helps you learn and navigate around the city better.

Over worked...under appreciated by customers and Uber Corporation
Diamond XL Uber Driver (Current Employee) - Chicago, IL - September 20, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Flexibility of schedule is paramount What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Not knowing who you are picking up. They see our picture, we go in blind. Especially tuff when a person books a ride for a friend and doesn't say "guest ride". What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Fake. They always believe the customers. Have the customer service people for Uber are foreign. Hard for them to fix a problem, when they don't fully understand. But people in other countries work for smaller wages...gives them a better bottom line on P &L What is a typical day like for you at the company? Driving for deadbeats that rarely tip! I'm a 5 star driver and only 25% of customers tip....they have to understand we are like bartenders....make our money off tips...not the crumbs Uber pays us. We get 40%...they take 60%. Bonuses are super low in Illinois in 2023!! As low as $5. I'm not kidding!!

It pays the bills
Driver (Current Employee) - Cincinnati, OH - September 20, 2023
It is very boring tedious work but it pays decent. It can be draining if you have a gas guzzler as you will spend a large amount of money on gasoline.
