RN Staff Nurse in Poudre Valley Hospital
on May 12, 2021
Hours never guaranteed as a nurse
There are many jobs out there for nurses, so it is frustrating that RN's get floated to many places around the hospital that they are not comfortable working. Further, going from unit to unit, working with people/equipment that you may not be comfortable handling. There is minimal support from management, which makes the staff know that the VIP's at UCHealth are running the show and give little opportunity for managers on the front line to have any autonomy. Further, the pay is seriously in question! 25 cent raise for nurse pay in 3 years, plus no bonus, especially during Covid times?!) Too many cliques, which is typical in a hospital, but difficult when the managers are I the middle of the cliques!

After 3 years, I regret saying I worked for this company. Rude to patients and staff. don’t care bout burn out. Favoritism is a priority and they make everyone aware of the favorites.
RN Staff Nurse in Colorado Springs, CO

The unit I used to work at was the worst. Most of my coworkers were chatting all the time. Some CNAs did school homework at work. The leadership was bad. The clinical manager did not try to improve the work environment at all.
Patient Access Liaison in Aurora, CO
on May 4, 2021
You are pushed into the largest and busiest departments. Once you are there you are then roped into working for several other departments without being compensated for the extra work load. There are workflows that change on a daily basis. Most of the time these changes are given to you after they were supposed to be in effect. You will be given conflicting information from supervisors and be written up for following their incorrect or unclear instructions. There is not enough communication with the departments as a whole (between those in clinic and those out of clinic). This leads to many frustrated patients and unpleasant encounters. Regardless of these ever changing workflows and misguided instructions you will be pressured to stay within certain matrices or be you lose the opportunity to work from home. This job is more work than you are initially believe. You should definitely get a pay increase for working for several clinics instead of the one you are hired for.

As i was working there the pay is not real good for what all they have u doing its so much info to take in and they only give u a week to do it the supervisor on 1st is so rude and unprofessional i was schocked and on top of all that they say u get days off but r always called in and they mandate so u cant plain nothing and then i was only supposed to part time and i was working full time and then would get mad if i could not work it dew to my other full time job.
