Normal day begins around 6am. You need to be highly skilled at time task management. The day goes by fast, but work-life balance is difficult. Most teachers here for a few years and then leave.
Almost no work-life balance. Meetings every morning start 6:50 am sharp. You'll end up getting there much earlier to get work done before then (building opens at 6 am and most people come in then). Meeting after school much of the time, so I would leave at about 6:00 pm most nights, and a few nights a week stay until 8:00. Saturdays I would work from home for about 3 hours on other work deadlines.

Elementary teachers arrive 6:45 the latest, and are with students in some capacity until 415. Most days you stay until 530, sometimes for meetings and sometimes for work time, and like twice a week you are allowed to leave at 430. Plus, there is often several hours of work to do on weekends, sometimes more depending on what part of the school year you are in.
Usually your contract will specify either 7:30AM - 4:30PM or 8AM - 5PM, but almost everyone ends up staying well past that because of all the work to do.
