Here's what people have asked and answered about working for and interviewing at Underwriters Laboratories.
Toxic environment. Temp people treated like a garbage. UL hired and promoted loyal employees to the company's top ranks only. Performance doesn't matter. HR is joke!

Never in 2 years I worked there. I left and it took 2 temps to do my job.

Salaried employees are 'expected' to work more than 40 hours. They give you enough work to cover that and more.

Will restructure the incentive plan to give the lower title employees what they deserve. Here the top management incentive is 30-40% where the lower title guys 5-15%. Totally not productive. 5-15% of low pay is not much, don't forget.

I am sure the interview process has changed since I was hired in 1999. There is a regulated process that is followed and includes screening through Human Resources. I would come prepared with questions. There is considerable information available online about UL at www.ul.com.
