Depends on what department you are working for. Call centers always have 3 shifts.

Rarely. This was tied to employee reviews but on my account the account managers where only allowed to rate one person a 4 out of 5, no one could be rated as a 5 out of 5. This was a big issue as only those getting a 4 or 5 could get a raise. This impacted a team of 20 people.
