Regional Safety Manager (Former Employee) –  Geismar, LAMay 23, 2018
USES was a pleasure to work for before the transition from private owners to a investment group. After the transition Safety Managers were not a profitable revenue source.

Not what you expect.
Accounting (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXMay 17, 2018
There are too many games played! The company does not care about employees. Employees are treated like caged hamsters running on a wheel. Employees are paid well but, very unhappy and live in fear for their jobs. Corporate office higher-ups play many games with all employees. The Controller and CFO lead the way. They care nothing for their employees and only communicate with their specific few that they have chosen. Training is not an option and you are made to feel stupid when you do not understand or ask any questions. The controller and CFO seem compete for the chance to humiliate an employee esp. new employees. The controller is openly rude, mean, and nasty to employees. The CFO embraces this behavior and the CEO does not get involved. All very sad because this company could be great.
Pros
Pay and office is nice.
Cons
There are zero management reviews. The Controller runs the company.

The position took me from Corpus Christi to New Orleans to do project management, finances, and quality assessment of refineries and supporting sites. The job really needed 3 people and was long hours and difficult with the travel added.
Pros
Mileage was paid
Cons
Stressful considering the refineries and supporting sites were dangerous

Safety (Former Employee) –  Geismar, LAJanuary 31, 2018
You never know when or where you are going to work. They are constantly cutting back and closed their office in Geismar. They merged with K2 and have since reduced the work force of USES. Most employees are from K2 now. They kept K2 employees and gave the USES employees the boot.

Technician (Former Employee) –  TexasJanuary 5, 2018
They say safety, but do not follow up with it. Truck are trash out, they can't pass a D.O.T. inspection. They won't spend money on trucks to fit them right. They have non CDL holding driver's drive their trucks in a plant, un safe to others.

uses was a good company to work for.
Driver/Operator (Former Employee) –  Port Arthur, TXOctober 30, 2017
it has good and bad days like everywhere else .i love working as a liquid vac operator / overall equipment operator. i have learned to be patient.some management within the company has a good vission for company , employees and customer.but some need to use diplomacy when they are dealing with employee & customer and not abuse the position that was intrusted to them, to uphold with
integrity. also to know there employees by strengthen there weaknesses and build them to become a ideal and effective employee for the company. we have had good safety values in safety meetings . but carring it out in the field you are being pushed to do the job by any means to get it done. the hardest part of the job is working with equipment that has no a/c in temperatures of 98 degrees and above to work in everyday.the most enjoyable part of the job is at the end of the day is the customer is satisfied with the completion of all tasks which was given that day.

When you are on the outside looking in to this kind of job you think it will be a great opportunity but once youre in its not. It has to be one of the worse places i have ever worked at. I would not recommend someone to work for them. Very poor management system.

Manager (Former Employee) –  Houston, TXFebruary 20, 2017
This was a very enjoyable job. The people that work at this company have a lot of heart and most really like their jobs. During my employment the company was trying to grow but since owned by a capital venture investment firm, who only wanted to see profits,, they were not allowed to spend money on capital expenditures (new equipment, etc.) and had to try and make due with what they had on-hand.

Environmental Manager (Former Employee) –  Meraux, LAFebruary 6, 2017
if you take this job you are going to be on call 24/7. If you are person that values overtime, great, you will probably get a lot of it. Unfortunately the hourly people make terrible wages, so you have to get the overtime just to make a living.
