Fired happens when a casual limited term appointment has ended, when all of the extra work is caught up, when work stops, and when there is no more work that the post office wants to give to them. If that is all that has happened then more than likely yes apply for the next job opening as a casual if that is what you want. it can also mean terminated with cause for a specific reason related to misconduct. casual employees are not a members of the post office collective bargaining unit, however, union stewards will give advice to casuals if they are fired for a reason that is not related to completing a limited term or temporary job.
